Snow-Woman 0
Quote: todays trivia, what famous movie shot footage in the above 2 picures? Watched it last night, and noticed this location! Is it in Kyoto?
lin 0
I like using my friends lenses. I just wish they would buy more.
woywoy 0
I have the D70. I have the 18-70 kit lens ... I want to get a nicer, fatter zoom. What do you reckon I should get Kuma, Bushy??? I favour the Nikon lenses.
bushpig 0
I have the tamron 28-300 NPM. It's a decent enough lense and gives you around 400 mm zoom with the D70. Nice and light too.
miller 1
I have just found out that a friend of mine does have the fisheye lens.

bushpig 0
exactly. You could drop some serious cash if you want higher quality... I am guessing you want a bigger zoom right?
miller 1
Friend with fisheye has promised I can take it with me over the summer.
bushpig 0
nice, look forward to some pics.
miller 1
Yes I'm looking forward to that too. I'm going to study-up on how to best use it.
miller 1
Going back to filters, what other filters do any of you guys have? I was looking in Bic the other day and they have all sorts of filters going on - crosslight (?), twilight blue, etc...
aijingaijin 0
I have an old Pentax and used to have a darkroom in my house. Nothing like developing those prints yourself, those were the days. I haven't splashed out on a new digital SLR but thinking about it. I have about 5 filters including a twilight one (got some great shots from that one), though with the way people use software to adjust shots on their pcs now not sure if people with new cameras use them. (Do you?) A lot of Nikon fans on here I see.
soubriquet 0
My D40 has a UV filter because I like it to wear protection. All the tweaking gets done in Photoshop.
thursday 1
just make sure you have the daylight/UV filter to protect the lens. Apart from a polarizer, I don't need any other filter as the WB on the camera can do the job. Discover the capabilities of your camera before buying what may be redundant add-ons from the3 film days. bushpig 0
An infrared filter is the only one I have other than the polarizer and the UV filters. A lot of fun to play with, but hard to get good results.
miller 1
Infrared. Interesting. Yes I think for now I'll keep playing around with what I've got, still so much to learn.
thursday 1
there used to be a sony vid cam that had IR. With the IR filter, it could vid through clothes. All the perves got one before it was taken off the market.
bushpig 0
This is not night vision and can't even really do that kind of stuff. All it does is cuts all light in the spectrum except for IR light. Makes for very dark pics, needing long exposure times.
scouser 4
Does everything not go green (including all the soldiers and explosions) like on the telly?
thursday 1
I think that's night vision, intensified available light rather than IR.
bushpig 0
yeah, a different thing. IR lense blocks all but IR light. Like this... But what I really want to do (which requires a bit of photoshop magic), is get shots like these...
Yuki's Passion 1
love some of those pics bushy...seen em before but sweet as!
thursday 1
they sure look like pro shots. Not sure an IR filter can do that though. Maybe playing with black and white and then playing with the colour temp.
miller 1
They are very impressive looking shots.
