don't call me baby 0
I went to Gala for the first time snowboaqrding recently and loved the experience. I really want to get into it. A group of friends are going to Hakuba next week and I'd like to go. So, second time ever on a board.... where would you go in that area? Thanks!

number9 0
Sun Alpina. You can get cheap 2500 yen discount 1 day lift passes from your accomodation. If you're gonna stay on the beginner slopes, might as well be cheap, yeah?

SydFunnelWeb 0
Are any of your friends beginners too? I would say wherever your friends are going because i think its more fun with your mates. If your friends are all going to ditch you then head elsewhere.
uggggllllyyyy 0
Go to Happo-one. Its big and has mainly easy, open runs. Perfect for beginners. Pretty good grub at the restaurants. However, it can get busy on w/e.
damian 0
baby - After a horrendous first day on a shit cat track at Hakuba 47, I taught myself on the gentle and amazingly wide open and even lower slopes of tsugaike, It is a fantastic beginners resort.
Fattwins 0
happo only has saka for beginners its not great for new riders.
3da5snow 0
Tsugaike is where I first learned how to board. Nice wide open runs!
gogalago 0
would put in my 2yen for tsugaike too... big enough to keep it fairly quiet - was surprised to find iwatake really packed when i went a couple of weeks back, and it doesn't have the width of tsugaike that is handy when you're learning. Avoid the top part of the rinkan course (the green run that winds down the mountain)... so flat that even experienced riders end up walking, so will be extra frustrating when you're still learning. muikabochi 208
I thought that too when I was there. In our area, Iwappara is excellent for beginners - probably one of the best there is.
