SerreChe 2
Nice picture. Looks like some serious amount of work has gone into this already. Wonder what it will look like on opening day.
Ocean11 0
Madness. 'Making' snow is such a bad idea.
Yuki's Passion 1
wonder what the costs of producing it are even if it does help start the base. Just doesnt seem economically viable. Id rather save my money for a weekend thats actually worth going out and hitting the slopes.
Fattwins 0
If I lived near there and had a pass i would go. But I dont live there and I dont have a pass so I wont go. For a company as red as kokudo, they shouldnt really waste their fixed snowmaking budget like that. Its just a waste o their water and energy.
scoobydoo 0
Apart from the people who go, they get a lot of "publicity" from it I imagine. Still hard to see what use it is.
number9 0
The economics may be fascinating. What is the cost of making artificial snow? (Same with places like Sayama.)
Siren 0
Thanks for the photo. So this is how it starts. Never live near a resort to see this kind of work.
Fattwins 0
Japan is one of the only places in the world that makes snow like this. they must make it inside in a fridge and then pump it out. snow needs cold air I think I could make snow at around 2degrees but it depends on the system. When I was a snowmaker I had to have -1 but at that temp i couldnt really make much of it. I liked to make snow at around -8 prefect for cranking up the gun and making a ton of snow. -15 and I could make so much.
r45 4
Interesting. I guess it wasn't 2 at Naeba then?
SKI 15
Must cost them a fortune. Perhaps the publicity is worth it. Do they have the quad lift running for that run then (sure looks like it!)
HeatherLocklearRocks 1
Very interesting to see that. I'd like to see more of them preparing it.
