For people who duck ropes on a regular basis it doesn't seem to be anything special.

For people who don't like ducking ropes it is a good way to get into the off piste.

I havn't been when it's been open though. 5 metre tall thick brush was in the way. The stuff I saw didn't look like it was hike to though. There was one area that you had to hike to but most of it seemed to be below catracks.

Last three time I went, it was a hit. It is conditional to snow pack condition. There are two good areas, Bengakuzawa, which you can loop with a top quad chair. Okenashi, you have to hike up. If the day is good, you have to get to the base station early to get the ride ticket so that you can get to the first Gondola up. And if you are a guest at the resort, you can also purchase "early bird" sepcial to beat the crowd by 45 minutes.
