2pints-mate 0
Well a prelim prelim decision was made. We've decided against Hokkaido, it will be Honshu. The point now is whether to go wide or concentrate on one area.
BagOfCrisps 24
That was fun. Not much decided on though. But we have some time left no need to panic.
big-will 7
How many of you coming?
2pints-mate 0
Maybe 4 of us this time actually.
cheesewoman 0
Good luck with your planning. Hopefully this thread: http://www.snowjapanforums.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php/topic/1/5757.html ....will help you make a good decision as well!
BagOfCrisps 24
We will definitely take that into consideration cheesepeople. Thank you!
BagOfCrisps 24
Well our decision has now (almost) been made. We're going to concentrate on Nagano (Hakuba, Nozawa, maybe Shiga) and also take in some Arai/Myoko and possibly Yuzawa as well. Nearly final plans to be announced soon! Thanks for all your feedback so far.
big-will 7
Sounds like a good plan to me. Must be exciting planning it all. Are you going to be in Tokyo much?
sava 0
cheesewoman: rest assured, my decision for resorts will be solely based on the adequacy of cheese available.
@tokyo 14
I think you have made the best choice...
BagOfCrisps 24
We'll be getting out of Tokyo as quickly as possible and have 2 nights before going back the UK (probably).
veronica 2
A good idea. Have you been to Roppongi yet? (Check out the thread in the off topic)
BagOfCrisps 24
We don't intend to hit Roppongi, better places to spend our limited time.
gamera 0
Limited ? How many days will you have for the trip?
2pints-mate 0
Just under 2 weeks in total.
gamera 0
Ah okay but if it's 9 hours difference ( UK - Japan ), probably you need that at the shortest. It's hard to have 2 times jet lag for 9 hours in a 2 weeks
Hokkaidough 4
Easier when you're coming from W > E - and you're on holiday and having fun gamera.
gamera 0
Eh? But if you reached Japan at 9 a.m. JST from UK, it's midnight in the UK ( if it's winter ). So you feel asleep then?
BagOfCrisps 24
gamera, it wasn't a problem last time coming over to Japan. But that might be to do with the fact that we were really up for it and excited about the holiday. Were were really knackered when we got back to the uk though.
gamera 0
Oh okay, I was sleepy all the time when I was in the airplane for Europe (Athens )though I found a lot awesome scene in the sky. Had lots of new discoveries in the trip. Scary when the airplane was involved in air turbulence.
Honest John 0
I experienced some bad air turbulence once, it was well scary -- I always keep my belt on now after that.
minus 1
I'm always worse coming back to Japan rather than the other way round.
gamera 0
Is that when you fly from west or east, -20.7?
soubriquet 0
Flying Tokyo to London in January (Virgin excellent ) daylight flight gave a fantastic view of the frozen Tundra of Siberia. A brilliant landscape of shallow rivers meandering through frozen marshland. A real treat after 15 years of flying ove Australian desert.
rach 1
Hey, what was so good about Virgin, soubriquet?
