TSC 0
Am going to Japan to ski in late december. Would like good weather, nice views, good snow, nice accomodations. Which should it be? Niseko or Happa-One? Which hotels to recommend? Thanks!
oo 1
Best answer - go to both. But if I had to choose, Hakuba.
Fattwins 0
For Powder go to Niseko that said last year Hakuba had a killer Late December. Hakuba gets its fair share of snow better than a lot of resorts. You cant loose going to either I think. Steeps Hakuba pure Powder Hokaido.
Davo 1
Wise words from fattwins-have never been to Niseko but I believe the legends of amazing powder are hard to top. However, I have rarely suffered from a lack of decent powder in Hakuba over the last couple of years and it's definately steeper than what you'll find in Niseko by all accounts. scouser 4
I'd go up north first if I could, then check out Nagano and Niigata and ....
miwako 0
I choose Happo. Hokkaido is more difficult and troublesome to get there.
Will Lee 0
Been to Hakuba region but never to Happo One. I`d have to say Hokkaido cuz of the numerous choices you`ll have, not to mention DA POWDER and the sheer volume of it. There are also more "resort" oriented places to stay at. Good weather and nice views in late December? Maybe somewhere with less snowfall! It doesn't all fall overnight, you know. The last two New Year periods have seen blizzards here in Hakuba. Last season Jan 1-4 was manic (but great if you like freshies....) Niseko is colder.
