mogski 0
What's a level 5 skier? What are the dimensions on your skis? Tip-waist-tail(Girlfriends measurements SHOULD NOT be wirtten here!) What make and model are your skis? Do you like to ski powder?
Markie 0
My guess is that your ski travel agent is in the "stone age" concerning ski know-how. I'd go with the ski shop guy.
Fattwins 0
Maybe ok depends on things, depth of snow and your skis shape. what skis are they type. Level 5 meaning the best. I ride 178s but they are 118 90 106 pretty fat.
green 0
I'm far from being expert, but would have thought the ski shop people were best - they were very helpful for me.
js 0
They are a bit short for your height/weight - 'level 5' - is that Aussie, North American or Japanese grading?! Either way, I wouldn't worry too much. It just means you won't go as fast, but the benefit is they are easier to control. Width is important for floatation in pow pow, or if you are into quick, short turns. Don't worry, as long as you're out there having fun - hey, that's the name of the game! xxx 2
I preferred to have more control when I was a complete beginner. Now it is speed that I want most.
zwelgen 0
I skied with a guy last season and he sounds similar body type and skill level to you. His skis sounds like yours are and granted he did get stuck a few times in stuff that I didnt but nothing too serious and only on big big powder days. I mean unless you are doing some serious back country I wouldnt worry too much. Id say bring em and if they arent cutting it on a big powder day go and rent some others. jared 0
also depends how heavy/light the pow is - I'v got park skis and its only a prob when its heavy and deep.
