Gunma Boarder 14
On the bright side it snowed hard last night
muikabochi 208
It's hard work shovelling the snow from the driveway though, so perhaps you're better off....
Gunma Boarder 14
Oh I did a bit of shovel', but maybe not as much as you in Muikamachi.
muikabochi 208
Actually, I must admit, I didn't shovel. There's sprinklers outside that do part of the job and I basically just drove over the rest of the snow!
Gunma Boarder 14
I get over to Niigata alot, but tend to not make it past Naeba and Kagura. If I were to drive a little farther where would you recomend going. Besides Granview of course.
muikabochi 208
It's hard to look past Mt Granview, but if you insist, the three places I probably enjoy most in the region Maiko Snow Resort Muikamachi Hakkai-san Gala Yuzawa (when not busy) Remember, big part of it for me is pretty views too. RobBright 35
Same here - nice to look out the windows and see blue skies, but then I look at the web cams...
HelperElfMissy 42
It's hot here. I would love to come shovel snow. I hate hot.

Muika, you should come over to gunma on a really clear day and go to either Kawaba or Tenjin. The views are amazing. A big part of my enjoyment on the mountain is also the views. So out of the three you chose, which one has the best views on a clear day?

muikabochi 208
I'm pretty sure I did. Bit busy right now can't search. Difficult one that Gunma Boarder. They all offer lots. If you look at my old trip reports you'll find tons of photos.
norcal 5
There is a mountain range right outside our compound/base. I can only imagine how much snow is up there once these clouds lift. Then it will taunt me, everyday. WHY?!?!?!!!! lol
2ndstringqb 0
'I wish I were on the mountain instead of stuck at work watching the snow fall.................' I have this thought at least once an hour.
deadlymonkey 0
Sigh, there is a depressing lack of snow outside my window, although I can see all the snow on the mountains that are an hour away.

Same here! Except I am closer to the mountains! A bit! Had that crappy "R" stuff yesterday falling! Just dull and cloudy at the moment here!
