gifugill 0
I see there are roads all the way round Mt Yotei so you could go north on Route 276 and then Route 230 from Niseko to Rusutsu. Or you could go on Road 66 south of the mountain. Which is the most 'popular' of the two? Cheers.
MagSeven 40
Rt 66 via Makkari to the south of Yotei is your best option I reckon. It's the way I've always gone anyway.
Mike Pow 52
Yep. 1 hr door to door in winter conditions.
gifugill 0
Thanks. I presume if you are coming from Kutchan, the north route is quicker?
seemore 66
I wouldn't bother Niseko is heaps better than Rusutsu it's not worth the drive Seemore

Go Native 70
Yes, if driving from Kutchan follow route 276 and then 230 to Rusutsu. That would be the easiest. Remember if you're only there for the day you'll most likely be wanting to drive to the East Mt car park not stopping at the resort area. The turn off is on the left about a km further on past the theme park.

gozaimaas 61
I hear there are lots of pot holes on the road as you approach rusutsu. Sounds dodgy to me I wouldnt go there.
snow_hippie2 0
Rt 66 via Makkari to the south of Yotei is your best option I reckon. I did it this way in 40 mintures from Hirafu in the winter, not driving fast.

I'm in Niseko in Jan and my accommodation includes a car which does not have GPS so I will be needing an old-fashioned paper map to get around. many thanks !

sunrise 0
I wish I was, paid snow gigs seem to be few and far between around here these days! Your only alternative for that is to pass thru Tokyo, cos I'm pretty busy here, prob no snow though...
