Can someone tell me about what good "rap" is please.

All the stuff I have ever heard, apart from Gazza, is just flippin' awful.

But seriously, do people actually sit down and listen to rap? I just can't imagine doing that.

I don't like jazz or country either, but I can just about get people being able to listen to them.

'good' and 'rap' do not belong in the same sentence UNLESS there's the modifier "bye" or "NO" in there - as in "rap is NO good", or "goodbye rap".

There's no tune, and the words are meaningless (if understandable).

I liked the gangsta rap from the 90's like Ice T and I don't mind some of Eminem's stuff. I also like the rap/rock of Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit. The rest of it is just goofy dudes who need to adjust their hat and pull up their pants..

Dislike rap generally but Linkin Park are one of my 'guilty pleasures', music wise.

I love some of their stuff, usually the non-rapping kind of songs but even those I don't hate.

Really like their latest album, esp, this song

I think Mike Shinoda is pretty talented guy

Isn't this some kind of oxymoron? rappers don't sing - known fact! Mainly because they have no tune, and no vocal range.

Sorry, but rap is spelled with a Capital "C", as the thread title suggested.

I liked rap when I was at school, it was the in thing too. I still like some of the old stuffl, don't think much to the modern day rap though.

When it comes to music, I like many types of genre actually, except J and K-pop can't bloody stand bunches of teeny boppers squeaking out some noise.
