big-will 7
Can you drive a car in the US if you are as young as 15? Find that hard to believe but someone told me it was so. What is it in Japan btw, and other countries?
RobBright 35
From wikipedia Alaskans can get their learner's permit at 14. Michigan at 13yrs 8mths. North Dakota can get their license at 14yrs 6months But South Dakota trumps them all at 14yrs and 3months.

Jynxx 4
I wonder what the insurance is for kids driving a car!?
2pints-mate 0
Bloody hell that is young. I bet there's some cases where they can drive a car, but not get on a rollercoaster!
Tubby Beaver 209
haha!! Don't they have Drivers Ed classes in High school? I actually think that'd be a good idea, when I was a Youth worker at a High school at home, I tried to get a class off the ground. I contacted local driving instructors to see if they would be interested coming and doing a class with the senior students, enabling them to sit their theory test (with the idea that the instructor could then drum up business from the students on actual lessons) but none of them were interested. big-will 7
Good idea that. But 13 years olds driving. Is that really a good idea?!
Go Native 70
If it's anything like a learners permit in Aus you have to have a fully licenced person with you when driving. It's not like you could just jump in the car and go pick up your mates and go for a hoon! My parents used to let me drive quite often from an early age (illegally of course but on country roads where there wasn't much traffic).
scouser 4
Learners in the UK can drive with an adult. If that's the case as you say Go Native I wonder what age they can drive unacompanied.
