iiyamadude 6
We all know Go Native is biased due to his love of Tokyu and their marketing
pie-eater 207
Out of interest, are the total numbers of people going to the Niseko skijo increasing year on year.

JellyBelly 1
Is that recent? Niseko Village seems to have been sold and bought every year!
Mick Rich 78
Ok, I'm bumping this post because this morning I rode what is definitely the slowest lift in Furano, if not Hokkaido!!
Valve Bounce 0
Is that worse than a Pomma?

Mick Rich 78
Yeah, it was like riding an old, kiddies' fairground ride, though still more comfortable than a pomma! I've also heard a rumour that it may not be here next season so if you find yourself in Furano with 10 minutes to kill.....
muikabochi 208
A pomma, Mick? I always remember that one at Madarao. Tiny tea tray single lift taking you up a fairly steep and high slopes. Hairy stuff!
Thundercat 60
I prefer to refer to them as meat hooks.

HelperElfMissy 42
I reckon a Poma is easier on a board than a T-Bar or J Bar - but just my preference.
iiyamadude 6
That doesn't look half as exciting as the suspended tea trays / meat hooks!
Tubby Beaver 209
it looks a lot more serene than it actually is!! I ended up with big bruises on the inside of my thigh after riding them up what felt like the north face of the eiger while riding at Glenshee over New Year. They give you a good jerk right at the start as well, if you're not used to them they will put you on your face. I haven't used a T-bar MB and I dunno what a J-bar is. HelperElfMissy 42
T and J are essentially the same animal - t bar can take two people, J only one. They are everywhere in Australia! (T's anyway)
Tubby Beaver 209
ah ok......I had horro thoughts about a backward facing J-hook that clipped on somewhere tender! Yeah t-bar's are in Scotland too....thankfully japan is in the modern age
Mick Rich 78
I've never seen/ridden a J-bar either but if it's anything like a T-bar I'll give it a miss - riding one of those is more difficult than snowboarding itself
Metabo Oyaji 71
I must be blessed -- I think I remember one of my home hills growing up having a T-bar, a J-bar, AND a Poma lift. You're not missing anything.
ILoveZao 8
Where would that be Metabo Oyaji-san?

I wonder if the dude at the top of the lift gets his lunch sent up on that. Would be a good "Cheese at Resorts" shot, perhaps a cheese spread on a plate going up.
