Tubby Beaver 209
yeah I'll confirm closer to the time and if there is still space then cool.
Mick Rich 78
It's already in the diary!
SKI 15
I might be in if you don't mind. Tokyo, not Kanagawa. Hope that won't rule me out.
MiniMoose 0
Hopefully shouldnt be a problem.
RobBright 35
Where in Tokyo ski?
grungy-gonads 54
He skis you know, is that acceptable too?
RobBright 35
Depends - if he creates a bottleneck, or gets all uppity about being with snowboarders, then could be swift swipe to the back of the ankles.
MiniMoose 0
Well, I skiboard...
Mick Rich 78
did they teach you that in the navy?
SKI 15
Kagura opening delayed. Not looking good for at least a week.
MiniMoose 0
So I should have 6 or 7 spots depending on how much gear needs to come with us. The cost will be roughly ( this is just an early estimate) $25-$30 (or yen equivalent) per person. That's splitting the cost between 7 people. So obviously if we don't fill up the van it will cost more. So I can get a better idea of who wants to come, send me a PM with what gear you need to bring and where you live. Thanks guys! Mick Rich 78
Sweet! Not sure how to send a PM so just to confirm, I live in Miyazakidai on the Den-en-toshi line (that runs from Chuo Rinkin to Shibuya) & will be carrying a 160cm snowboard bag
Tubby Beaver 209
IF I go, I live in Fujisawa (1 stop past Ofuna) and my bag is about the same size as mick's (I'll confirm later and see if I'm in luck)
sand 17
I would definately be up for the 23rd of December, the Emperor's Birthday public holiday. Have skis 168cm, poles and boots. Live in Nakano.
Mick Rich 78
It`s gonna be crazily busy everywhere on the 23rd!!
nagpants 1
Beautiful day in Nagano today, looks like it is in most places and this weekend too.

Mick Rich 78
Sorry Sand, I stand corrected - was just thinking of the traffic jams I've seen or been stuck in on national holidays in and around Tokyo. Last Dec 23rd I was babysitting my mother in Kyoto
MiniMoose 0
Oh whoops, I guess this forum doesn't have PMs. Also, it would be pretty hard to pick up people at varying places all over Kanagawa, maybe it would be a bit easier if we can consolidate to a few bigger stations or something? muikabochi 208
Yuzawa Now reports that Kagura are opening tomorrow. Bizarre! Grass skiing perhaps
SKI 15
That almost smacks of desperation. It takes 40mins or so to ship over there, so it's a lot of effort to slide that course.
muikabochi 208
Naeba gets it's artificial snow run open tomorrow. No real snow up there at all yet. Info on the Naeba Now page I see.
MiniMoose 0
I think this is a bit of desperation. http://www.galaresort.jp/winter/news_00165.html Opening the resort for the sake of a fake snow course.
muikabochi 208
Desperation is not really the word. This is planned and they did it last year. Check the Yuzawa Now reports. Anyway, it might snow....... Heavy rain down in town now.
