The first one has great acting and a good story and is well made. They got Gregory Peck initially and then the other good actors that joined in by making it "real" and not really a horror story as such - more like a suspenseful thriller. The documemtaries on the DVD are good to watch.

Go get it watched thursday, it's a good movie.

Lazily does get put into "horror" but I would say it is one of the best horror, if you are calling it horror. When they made it, the way they got Peck involved was to put it forward as a suspense/thriller and make all the things that happen as things that could happen. To a certain extent of course. They took out all of the witches, horns, clothed hoofs and all the gothing nonsense out of the original script. The story is good, the acting is good, the music is good, the production is good.

Anyway get it looked at.

I did watch it. Many years ago. Perhaps, no, really hazy now. But it was horror back then and now? perhaps light drama. Graveyard in Rome or somewhere. Horror!!. Ah.. Dogs too.

When the Jews return to Zion

And a comet rips the sky

And the Holy Roman Empire rises

Then You and I must die.

From the eternal sea he rises,

Creating armies on either shore,

Turning man against his brother

'Til man exists no more.

Was tempted to put this into the "best remakes" thread, since after all it is not being performed by Wham!. However, that advantage is almost exactly cancelled out by instead being performed by Exile, leaving us with only the innate qualities of the song itself by which to judge this piece. Hence here it goes.
