bobby12 0
outcome seems inevitable - tory/libdem go into bed together - the only question is how much can libdems force tories to concede.

grungy-gonads 54
They say we might get some idea of what's going on Tuesday. Wonder how many people voted for what we end up with. You know, of Clegg (you know the one who came third) ends up with Labour + those other people, it's going to be a nightmare and when the next election comes quickly the Tories will storm it. Probably best for them in the long run. Nutters the lot of them for wanting to be PM right now. Or any time I suppose. Exciting isn't it.
big-will 7
I know it's the Torygraph, but this says it well "It is a measure of Gordon Brown’s loose grip on reality that he sought to depict his decision to stand down later this year as a noble act of self-sacrifice made in the national interest. The truth is that this was an act of quite staggering cynicism based on naked party advantage. With the incomprehensible connivance of Nick Clegg – whose reputation will surely never recover – Mr Brown is effectively seeking to nullify the result of last week’s general election. Blinded by his tribal loathing of the Conservatives, he is ready to risk everything – and we use that term advisedly – to keep David Cameron out of Downing Street. This unelected leader of the Labour Party will remain Prime Minister, even though his party secured two million fewer votes and 48 fewer seats than the Tories. He will then hand over at a time of his choosing to a new Labour leader. At that point, the United Kingdom will find itself governed by a Labour prime minister the country has not elected, succeeding a Labour prime minister neither the country nor his party elected. Even by Labour’s standards, this is self-serving and unscrupulous." What a bunch of complete bastards.
bobby12 0
nah, I still think libdems will join with tories and brown will go out like a candle, joint worst PM ever along with John Major.
thursday 1
John Major what a toe rag. If ever a toe was too interesting for a rag, that would be the one.
grungy-gonads 54
Wonder what % of voters would have voted as they did if they knew the outcome we have now?

BagOfCrisps 24
This whole situation is actually quite worrying, seriously. It's a complete mess. The people who ever had any respect for any of these policitian people are quickly losing it. Ms Green has at least said she will just vote case by case, she's sticking with her lovely green-ness. BagOfCrisps 24
Good thing is that there is going to be some fine comedy out of it all. ------- Off-record quote from current Labour cabinet member apparently, he said: "He didn't spend all of his life hating the tories to miss tis chance of stuffing them". thursday 1
what Smeggy wants is proportional representation. Once he gets that, Lib Dems would be in contention henceforth. For the other two, giving way to PR would be suicide. No no no
thursday 1
This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle, This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars, This other Eden, demi-paradise, This fortress built by Nature for herself Against infection and the hand of war, This happy breed of men, this little world, This precious stone set in the silver sea, Which serves it in the office of a wall Or as a moat defensive to a house, Against the envy of less happier lands, This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England. big-will 7
Isn't this kind of situation what PR would bring us to? If another of these smarmboats says "strong, stable and secure" "for the good of the country", I think I will hurl.
