ski slopes for beginners

hi

am new to the forum. i hope this is the right place to post this question. am planning a ski trip for a group of six with a lot of beginners. am thinking either yuzawa or minakami areas. can anyone suggest a ski resort for beginners, hopefully one that is smaller and less crowded than the popular ones? thanx

go to iwappara I reckon - its really beginner friendly and easy accessible

I would say that too, Iwappara is the best for beginners.

For skiing fun though surely Yuzawa is a much better choice.

Karuizawa is really, really crowded tho. Not great for beginners.

A bigger hill might be better. Total beginners will be better off hiking up a bit on an easy slope for the first bit rather than hitting the lifts anyways.

Not Yuzawa or Minakami, but the best places for beginners in the Hakuba area is Tsugaike Kogen.

or the Takamagahara area of Shiga Kogen. Not very steep and reasonably wide. My Girlfriend learned here, we hiked up the slope a bit in the afternoon without buying a ticket to get her basics down, then we got a nighta ticket and there was no-one there so it was perfect.

I think really most resorts have good areas for beginners. It's not as if they need a huge area.

Learning on such lovely soft snow must be good.

My first experience wasn't quite as kind.
