Rubbish.

Jim O’Neill, a close friend of Sir Alex Ferguson, emerged last night as a key player among the Red Knights, who hope to wrest Manchester United from the clutches of the Glazer family.

As details emerged of the first tentative meeting between the group of leading City financiers who plan to put together a consortium to buy United, the name of O’Neill, who briefly served as a director at Old Trafford and has strong ties with Ferguson, figured prominently.

Scottish giants Rangers confirmed that majority shareholder David Murray has begun discussions with London-based property developer Andrew Ellis regarding a takeover.

The runaway Scottish Premier League leaders -- who are 31 million pounds in debt -- said discussions with "interested parties'' are at an early stage.

An independent committee of the board, which includes Ibrox legend John Greig, has been set up to consider any offers for the club.

Murray stepped down as chairman last August.

they're not...Rangers are crap....just everyone else is more crap. The whole squad has been up for sale since the summer, Kris Boyd is probably their most sellable asset and he is out of contract at the end of the season and can leave for nowt
