griller 9
Hate it when people use that as an excuse to fob you off, or non-payment, etc. As if, like, no-one is busy with their own busy-ness. Hear it way too often. Rant over.
SKI 15
One of the guys sitting near where I do uses that every day. Want to punch him in the face at times.
HelperElfMissy 42
Yeah.... but then you can come and do my life since I got back from Europe .... I am surprised I have not collapsed in a heap by now. If I say - sorry I have been really busy - it is a fact. But you know - most of the time I am flat out busy and I still manage to do more volunteer work than people who are not.
SKI 15
I'm sure you have been busy Mamabear ( good you can find the time to stay in touch here ) The guy next to me says it almost flippantly and sometimes when he isn't in the least bit busy. It's just an excuse. Some people just use it in a very condescending manner that basically sounds like they are implying that they are busier than the person being spoken to. HelperElfMissy 42
SJ is a priority SKI SJ, emails, my Christmas website and my facebook posse - thats it. Mostly checked while watching telly at the end of a silly long day....however now that I am mobile with my little netbook I can check in while on the train, in breaks at work - or other previously 'dead' time. Multitasking rocks!
muikabochi 208
I prefer a minimal approach to multitasking. It can get very hectic.
r45 4
I used that line this morning. Funny, I remembered this thread and started to feel a bit guilty, especially as it wasn't entirely true.
thursday 1
When I am, and someone comes to me while I'm in deep concentration, I do say something like that. But I also add that I'll get back to them, (if I remember).
BagOfCrisps 24
Do you say the last bit as well? I try to just say I'm tied up right now but I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Does that sound less excuse-y.
