skidaisuki 0
To Muika and our other Niigata friends, is it looking like it'll be worth doing a day trip to Kagura on Sunday? The Now page suggests maybe not, but I'm off to the UK next week and I want to get one ski in before Xmas. Cheers SdS
SnowJapan Admin SnowJapan 178 Posted December 10, 2008 SnowJapan Admin Share Posted December 10, 2008 My opinion - if it snows, maybe. If it doesn't - no.
muikabochi 208
My thoughts too. If you realllly want to get a slide in, then you can of course. And you'd probably enjoy it. But there ain't much snow.
skidaisuki 0
Thanks SJF and Muika, I will keep a close eye on the weather and your reports, and probably make a decision on Friday afternoon. Fingers crossed...
RobBright 35
Unless some magic wind blows a huge cold front down tomorrow/friday then would say no.
muikabochi 208
Easy for me to be picky, living close by. But I wouldn't be taking a trip from Tokyo unless things were in good shape.
Endless Winter 0
The weather forecast shows snow from Sunday night till Monday morning. Anyone have any more info on that weather system? I'm thinking of doing a day trip to Kagura on Monday if there's a good dump of snow.
muikabochi 208
The forecast has a whopping 9cm in total at the top http://www.snowjapan.com/e/resorts/resortdetail.php?resid=3 I wouldn't get too excited just yet.

Thanks. Just out of curiosity, how'd you figure there'd be 9cm of snow forecasted for the top? Maybe I missed it quoted in that 6 day forecast. Edit: I think I see now. You just took the totals for the top starting from Saturday and did the math.
thursday 1
nah, it doesn't work that way. 6 top, 3 mid is surely only 6 max.
BagOfCrisps 24
I think the main point is - not much snow.
grungy-gonads 54
I was considering taking a trip but it's just looking too desperate.
muikabochi 208
Yes - if you are coming this weekend I'd say Sunday was the best bet as there is a chance of snow on Saturday night. Doesn't look like a dump though we'll take it!
