Im from the north of England and I think its cold in Tokyo in the winter! My dad came in February, and he thought it was freezing! Having said that, it is really quite dry and sunny for the most part - it doesnt snow much, mainly, I think, because the prevailing wind direction is from the north and the Kanto plain is sheltered from the mountains. The weather in winter will generally be good for biking, but bring something warm to wear!

It's cold enough. There are loads of sunny days and if your moving (or carrying a 10kg baby up a hill grin.gif ) you'd be okay in a T-shirt but most of the time I wear a winter coat or sweater & down vest. Cold in the evenings and sometimes ice on the windows in Jan/Feb. TB is probably right about rarely dipping below 10 at midday but in the evening/morning my car thermometer is usually between about plus 5 and minus 2. I think Tokyo is a bit warmer than where I am though (Kamakura side of Yokohama).
