HappyG 0
Anyone know how long that trip would take? Would it be drivable in a couple of hours? I don't suppose there's a bus... Cheers
muikabochi 208
Couple of hours? No. Direct bus? No. By car in good conditions: Hakuba > Nagano = 1 hour Nagano > Nozawa = 0.75 hours Nozawa > Yuzawa = 1.25 hours Yuzawa > Naeba = 0.5 hours Those numbers are in good conditions. So at least 3 hours 30 minutes I reckon. In mid-winter and snowy conditions I would say you need to think more than 4.
HappyG 0
Uh-oh. Brilliant answer - thanks very much. Although you forgot to add the "getting lost = 1 hour" in one of the stages! Cheers
Crudzilla 0
I did Matsumoto to Naeba in 2hrs 30 mins this summer (for Fujirock woot!) Might go for a day this winter just coz it was such a weird place (having only been to the less developed resorts round here) All those huge hotels kinda reminded of the japan level on the SSX snowboard game Anyone actually like it there? looks like itd be chocka... Tubby Beaver 209
I've only been to Naeba, it was a few years ago, but I loved it. Mind you I was a beginner then, just passed the "able to stand up" stage so it might not be as good as I remember it.

SnowJapan Admin SnowJapan#Andrew 6 Posted September 12, 2007 SnowJapan Admin Share Posted September 12, 2007 I did Nagano to Nozawa today - used the expressway from Nagano IC (which is on the west side of Nagano city) to Toyota Iiyama, then the normal road (route 117) to Nozawa. It took less than an hour, though it does take a fair bit longer if you use the normal road through Nagano city. Nozawa to Yuzawa usually takes about 75 minutes. I think in good conditions the quickest from Hakuba over to Naeba will be 3 and a half hours.
