Curt 1
People either seem to love hire or (for some reason) prefer rosu (or however you spell it) when it comes to katsu. Myself a good hirekatsu win any day. Lets see
damian 0
Who would win requires pictures. It is a rule.
kkk 7
The hire always seems best to me too much fat or rosu.
daver 0
you and ocean making attempts to draconianly enforce this "rule" doesn't mean it is a invariable law.
muikabochi 208
Hirakatsu is awesome, love it. I have had some bad experiences with rousu I always go for hire
maoriboy 0
I just voted and I dont have a damn clue who or what it was I voted on.....
tsondaboy 0
here you go hire rosu
lin 0
OK so whats the difference? I was under the impression that the hire was the more expensive and with less fat.
number9 0
Fillet and loin (though doesn't always correlate, apparently). Is one fattier? But then again fattier meat is more popular here.
charlotte 0
At a local katsu place they haver chicken with cheese katsu rolls - they are really yummy.
bushpig 0
by fattier, I think people mean there are bigger visible chunks of fat on the edges. I agree that rosu often (but not always) has more fat like that.
big-will 7
One of my first experiences of katsu in Japan was a poor rosu. No kidding it must have been 75% fat there was hardly any meat on that thing at all. It was awful. It took a long while for my perception of katsu to change I thought the coating was just to hide the fat! I love it now but it'salways hire.
Kumapix 0
my first experience with tonkatsu involved the rosu since it was cheaper. I got to tell you I nearly choked on the end bits as they were all grisle. Once I found out about hire then my love affair with tonkatsu could properly begin
r45 4
Rosu can be gross. There's a local bento places that does one and I kid you not I once had a bento rosu that had probably less than 10% meat - the rest all fat. IT can be decent though - but hire is usually always pretty good and can be fantastic.
HeatherLocklearRocks 1
We've got a very nice looking new katsu restaurant opening 500m from my aparto. It should be opening mid-December. Yessssssss. Hire for me too.
