Here's the other Niseko Beer varietals - I think there are only three. Brewed in Niseko AFAIK. The lager is just an ordinary lager, but the kuro is really good, probably the best of the three. The "Canadian ale" is good too, but I've had better jibiiru ales before.

I would expect a Canadian beer to use new world hops like Cascade. A traditional IPA would use more English hops, fuggles, goldings etc....

I never came across anything purporting to be a "Canadian Ale" when I was in canada but I would expect it to be like an American Pale ale

Yeah, IPA's are pretty distinctive. They were originally formulated to survive transport and storage under less-than-ideal conditions, so they were heavily hopped. The Niseko Beer "Canadian Ale" is more like an "American pale ale" - if you've never had one of those or a red ale, it's sort-of like a dark or medium-dark lager.

Mmmm... yum!
