fb_steve 0
Howdy, I'm doing an anthropological essay for uni on Japanese Adolescence, i've done a fair bit of reading but seems im not in Japan i'd like to get some suggestions and oppions to make sure i'm on track. The question is... How has this cultural group (japan) been affected by social change, in relation to the topic(adolescence) you have chosen? So basically i have to list the changes in Japanese adolescence, and social factors may influence this. I've found heaps on schooling, cram schools, youth violence, rebelling, school refusal, materialism, consumerism. The social changes mainly revolve around economic change/western influence/globalization/internationaliztionb/break form tradition. Is there any other major changes in adolescence i haven't come across? Or any good authors people can recommend? I sometimes get the feeling i'm reading material from westerners who have biased views of Japanese culture. Thanks for the help, i'm looking forward to seeing what people think, cheers - Steve
