  1. As the previous posts suggest be careful buying boots online they are the most important thing in the world, maybe you can go into one of your local shops in perth and try on some boots and if you do feel something that fits like a glove then go online and buy the same sort at a cheaper price perhaps....I just bought a board through an online shop out of New Zealand as the AUS dollar is so strong and the shipping was much more reasonable than the US.
  2. So in lieu of a huge cash deposit a beer would be fine should we meet in J-land When you get to Myoko go to a pension called Mont Cervin Im sure I left a bottle of bundy rum there a cpl of years back and have one on me.........
  3. Snowjunky is there a bank account number where I can deposit my money to get on the J List...I think I've missed 2 updates I feel left out LOL
  4. There seems to some interest generated here for a catch up it seems there will be a fair few ppl around Niseko between the 14th - 30th....Why don't we organise a SJ members ride for a local charity??? Could be a great day meet new ppl and raise some coin for a well worth charity...get some local media involved??Just a thought.....
  5. Whilst I was reading this thread an advert on the TV came on for travel insurance, I had a look and they have ski policies and the prices are very reasonable....not sure about back country however I couldn't see any mention of it....but a quick email to them wouldn't hurt... they are under written by allianze..... 1cover.
  6. Absolutely brilliant ippy, your right....your 10 page blurb did help me...much appreciated...... I've just bought an endeavor Hi 5 159 online from New Zealand at a bargain thank god I found a weaker currency than the Oz $$$
  7. Black Mountain that is one of the best views in the world to have, I am so envious!!!!! My wife just can't understand and is annoyed with me.... Footy season is now officially over, so she's thinking OK my wonderful husband won't be glued to the TV each night watching live footy, replayed games, games from the past, footy show, stats show and anything else related to footy! But then I look at the photos of Fuji and Yeti and see some early snow, the juices flow, look at the calendar and start to count the days before I jump on that 400 ton plane and jet my way to the rising sun loo
  8. I am amazed at the amount of contradiction in opinion on snowboards. I believe a lot of it has to do with which store you visit whether it be in person or online and depending which manufacturer that store is aligned with as to what rebates or deals that store receives from any particular manufacturer and what the best Gross Profit is on a particular board and then you have how inexperienced the consumer is to believe all marketing jargon they have just been sold. I know my daughter when buying a board believes she is a better rider than I think she actually is and I think a lot of
  9. It is so interesting hearing each and everyones perspective on each place and what each of us are looking for....me personally anything is better than the wnter we have just had over here.. the last thing I want to do is compare Myoko to Niseko

  12. I am trying to find a link to find a train timetable from Nagano to Myoko, because the train I am getting from Tokyo to Nagano arrives at about 9.30pm ish. Is this too late to make a connection??? Any help is appreciated..
  13. There are good and bad in all races and cultures, where as I have found Japan to be one of the more honest countries I have visited. I hope this doesnt sound to bad but I have found in my many travels around the world that crime is higher in lower societ economies where crime is the only option for some people and here we spending god only knows how much money on wars and there so many people with nothing. However I am big believer of KARMA so hopefully I will be ok
  14. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with on selling a unused portion of your day ticket on the very rare occasion that it would happen to any of us, it's not as though there are bunches of scalpers hanging around the ticket return machines asking everyone if they have unused tickets left and then sprooking to the public they have tickets for sale and profiting from the scam. So a once off?? - no problems , profeesional scalper?? lock them up!!
  15. Hey Snowhuntress, gees you r missing some awesome falls and great POW at the moment hopefully it is still dropping when you get here. Am I missing the Goldy??? 17. I just thought I would post some info about some real good accom I got from the Snowjapan website. The hotel/Inn is called Freedom Inn and is located about 500mtr from Hanazono 308 base, which is so convenient each morning being so close and getting first tracks before the crowds hoard in from Hirafu. The inn is owned by a westerner and has local and western staff that are really nice and helpful. The standard of the place is what I would classify as "Boutique Style" without paying boutique prices. The rooms are well sized and they have a restaurant attached which serves a great breakfast and
