  1. It certainly can't hurt to get some feedback on the site and to have someone run the spellchecker/proof read it. I have been setting up a message board over the past few months and we had quite extensive beta testing and proof reading before we went 'live' ... but even then there were things that slipped through the net! It is a tricky business getting your shite together for an on-line community - which is why I tip my hat to these SJ guys... you blokes do a bonzer job! Onya! But in the end, if you give it your best, do what you can do, and people are not happy with it - well hey ...
  2. Amazing the tricks that happen when you take a sophisticated thing like the eye - and send the detailed information from it to the sophisticated and complex brain via the rickety old neanderthal optic nerve!! LOL!
  3. I certainly wouldn't be travelling and hitting the slopes with NINE - I can tell you! Four stretches me to my outer limits of strength, patience, money - not to mention where would you find the accomodation????

But come to think of it - he wanted loads of kids....he started the snowboarding thing off.... YUP! he IS the expensive blighter!! LOL

Ahh well - c'est la vie! Quote: ahh well mamaB.. At least you don't have to pay 3-5K to have a baby like we do here. Imagine the bort
  6. Fresh Lines 99, You are gonna LOVE it! I am hooked - an absolute Japan convert! Nothing comes close to the experience. One of the fellows in our group grew up in the UK and has lived all over the world - he has been ski-ing (and more recently snowboarding) for his entire life. He has laid down tracks all over the world, and his final word on the matter is that Japan is the pinnacle - he has never had it so good. High words of praise! I can't wait to get some more pic's from THIS season!

  8. As always you can pay a bomb for food if you want - but there are plenty of budget option available as well.
  9. I gather your agent is maybe adding an extra premium for prebooking All Mountain as opposed to one area - unless the lift tickets are different prices at each of the resorts. The price difference is not huge from Grand Hirafu to All Mountain per person - as they say 1800 yen. We will definately go All Mountain this time - but it is not the first trip and not just 3 or 4 days... But you clearly have experience on your side - and exploring far and wide in a short time period might be just your style. Why don't you buy the tix when you get there and make the judgement on the day...

We were travelling with experienced skiers and boarders though - they were rope ducking and hiking to the peak etc - they saw no need to go to the other places in a 10 day stretch - enough to keep them out of trouble!! However we are going back in Jan - same group. Thos
  11. Hee hee - you sound addicted!! (says she through a sly smile that hides the fact she has done 3 trips in o7 and is booked for January!)
  12. We found enough to keep us busy for a week in the one spot - depends on you - your ability to move around (got a car?) - and if you get bored easily... I would stick in the one spot for that short a time. But that is me.

  14. Just for interests sake... this is my "baby"... the littlest bear cub.
  15. But if you want pretty... then this is the one for me - taken by His Injuredness on the Ace #1 Pairs in January 07 - he took this to bring home to me...the Christmas obsessed one, to convince me to come in April. It worked!
  16. LOL! Trying the be impartial in this discussion - but I am a Liberal girl through and through... ...my bet is on 'ruining' - but time will tell. As others have said before me - the Left is looking quite right wing and the Right is becoming more left wing - they are now a much of a muchness...

I have Von Willebrands (similar to Haemophilia but not as scary) - so part of the treatment to keep me healthy by limiting blood loss also takes care of the fertility side of things....I don't think I ever saw a man smile as muc

And by the time I had the 4th (it was up to about $2000 by then) we were ineligible - have not seen a cent from the government in 10years! But we have sure paid them a bundle!! In fact - we had enough saved for a little holiday shack in Niseko - and then the buggers decide
  19. Do "babybear" scorpion pic's count? I got a few of them!! Poor kids helmet has a huge chunk out of the back from the board edge - damn lucky he was wearing his helmet is all I can say - or the snow would have been pink REAL fast!
  20. That is really interesting. With Australia being a 'multicultural melting pot' people officially gain the title of Australian when they take on citizenship. All the same rights and privaleges... But I suppose those that look different or sound different will experience some level of racism/lack of acceptance as an Aussie in some circumstances. At the moment I am concious of those Australians who have been here for yonks (some for generations) who are muslim and wear the hajib (is that the right word)...they tend to marry thier own people - so thier physical ethnicity is preserv
  21. Interesting... I assume that is because of the popularity of the area with foreign visitors - overrunning the place aren't we - we need to overflow somewhere! LOL!!

I had one sales guy in a store at Jindabyne telling me that while I might not find this particular t-shirt funny ("Your Mum's a Ski Instructor") that my snowboarding son's would love it... when I looked at him quizzically he said "you do ski

Recently those trips were to Ireland, Scotland, England, France and China - places the kids are yet to see! But WITH the kids we have been to Thredbo, Perisher and Smiggins, and Niseko for snow (from Perth, of course). The older kids have also skied (school trip - no snowboards allowed!) at Hot
