  1. Anyway please have a look at this page. http://dreamgamers.blogcindario.com/2006/11/00018-rr-6-xbox-360-versus-rr-7-ps3.html It compares the same game(ridge racer) between the 360 and ps3(at the same resolution). There are quite a number of differences. All this adds to the experience. All in all PCs have the best graphics haha.
  2. As it happens my monitor is 2560x1600 way above HDTV quality. I plan on using said monitor for the PS3 and use a HDMI converter. I guess in a few months there will be some hacks for the PS3, I wouldnt mind over clocking it. Even the PSP can be overclocked just by software.
  3. Yes bobby12 The PS3 is Native 1080P The 360 is Native 1080i The Wii is Native 480P The 360 can be firmware upgraded to 1080P but 90% of games will never support it, it may also produce visual tearing. 1080P = 1920 × 1080 or about 2.07 million pixels 1080i = 1920 × 1080 / 2 or about 1.04 million pixels that is for an interlaced tv but single pixel x pixel is about 1366x768 480P = 640 x 480 or about 3 hundread thousand pixels. The Wii while looking nice on normal TVs and can upscale a bit but if you have a HD tv it will never look good. I think the controler is a gimi
  4. skidaisuki I am getting one, the topic is not really if i am getting one or not. I am looking for experiences on people who have them and what they face in Japanese onsens. Especialy public onsens that you can get free passes to with your lift pass. I have already designed and priced my first tattoo. Its only a matter of time. Besides I am not an English teacher, I have a good job with a long term goal of working in Japan. What would be truly stupid is not gathering other peoples experiences as the phrase goes "forewarned is forearmed".
  5. Suntan lotion and a pair of aviators is all you need for the slopes haha. The glasses dont get foggy but when the sweat and suntan lotion gets in your eyes you go instantly blind.
  6. Whoa there seems to be a lot of judgemental people on this thread, from both angles. You know that not every argument has to be polar, dont reject an experience in life just because your peers(in the case of ski, parents) have told you not to. Thanks powwwers, Oyuki kigan et al, for your positive inputs.
  7. Anything new with Owen Wilson. You Me and Dupree was utter shoite. The guy is so type cast now its going beyond a joke. Saying that zoolander was a classic.
  8. Sorry panhead_pete you might of quoted me slightly out of context. I am the pro tat guy that wants to get one.
  9. Sorry but can I steer this back on topic. I would like to know how have people with tats been treated in different resorts. This thread isnt about being judgemental, people get them for any number of reasons. Why should you be persecuted for doing something when you were young. Everybody has had their drunken nights out.
  10. Got it, the shop name is MD+S or just M.D.S. The address is 千代田区神田小川町3-2-10 三光ビル1F
  11. I got a pair of Burtons(last year models) size 31, uk size 12 for 20,000 "freestyle". A bit ugly but had the best fit ever and enough toe room so I wont loose nails on Jumps. The staff there was very friendly and gave me a 60% discount. I dont mind if boots are too ugly because you will be covering most of them with your pants. I am looking for that guys meshi the shop is in Jinbocho.
  12. Hey Ski, I am getting my first for many reasons. I always wanted a tattoo for as long as I can remember. Now I am old enough and can put a lot of thought into the design so that I will be happy with it in the long run. I knew when I was younger that I would probably chose something stupid so I heald off. I may start small(though I have an idea for a full back piece) to cover a scar. Japanese feel that you are disrespecting your parents for damaging the body they gave you. (anicdotal but this is what I have heard the most) Well its covering a scar so I am not really damaging anything.
  13. Do any of you guys have any problems like up in Zao with tats? I an planing on getting my first one. But I like onsen after a good run on the slopes. Often I am in a group so we all hit the onsen together. I know rotenburo owned by the hotel will be no problem. What about the full onsen?
  14. I have owned all most every console since the 80's not a rich kid, I worked part-time to feed my game habit. Bought almost every one of them at launch date. NES SNES Megadrive . . . Xbox Cube PS1 PS2 At the time the PS1 was 300 Irish pounds. Which is actualy more expensive than what I can get the PS3 for now. So I dont get what all the anti sony thing is in the press. Now that I am older I just dont have the time to play all three and for me its going to be the PS3 Mostly because the PS3 will have more adult games. I dont want to play fishing or drums on the Wi
  15. Yeah I want to know the hookup also, haha. I am on the market for a 07 board, and am actualy willing to pay full price if I can get a board I can ride. i.e. something really wide.
  16. I have been in a few, but not quite lost. One I sat out for about 2 hours behind a dam of snow and netting. Eventually crab walking on skis down the run. What does get to you when you are on a run by yourself and something out of hte ordinary happens, such as a fall or a white out. Mountain faces that are in shadow or opposite the sun with a white out are the worst.
  17. What distro are you using sava? I hope it is not 6 years old. Linux has come a log way.
  18. Gaijin Bar: NO Japanese Bar: YES Happening Bar: ANYTHING GOES
  19. Snowblades = very short skis with bad bindings that dont break away before your leg breaks.
  20. Now eskimobasecamp you can see how I got my leg impailed on a wooden stake, from the injury thread. Glenshee was the worst, especialy the west side. There was a beginner area, but right at the bottom where everybody queued for the poma(thats right japanese readers did you ever even see a poma in your lives?) it would taper into a 40degree gradient(hardly beginner and it was pack ice) THe funny thing is a lot of the expert runs had a low gradient and were pretty easy.
  21. getting intolerably slow and old You could just remove all your spyware and use msconfig to remove a lot of the startup scripts and programs. Well ubuntu is really easy to install, world will almost every kind of hardware, is based on debian a very rebust linux platform, and even the desktop version can be used as a server. During the weekday I work as a network engineer and linux specialist (though not really a specialist I just use it everyday and can get buy most problems or install almost anything) I could be convinced (with cash) to install ubuntu, convert all office
  22. Kusatsu It almost all greener slopes, it has one 8km run which is just 10degrees. But is ski only. If you want some fun use snowblades. There are probably reviews on snowjapan. http://www.kusatsu-kokusai.com/
  23. Well it will be a million times better then Glenshit :cough: Glenshee. Spring is really the best time to ski in Japan, its a little cheaper than december, couple of layers of snow, 2-3 meters deep. And nice resorts everywere. I learned to ski on glenshee
