  1. Yep, the Beckem circus in coming to town. The LA Galaxy will play an exhibition match against the Newcastle (Aus) Jets and isn't the town going nuts. To be honest I've never seen the guy play. Is he that good? Or is he more of a celebrity than a football hero?
  2. I was talking about the gullible twits that buy a Louis Verton hand bag, for no other reason than people say that they're the bee's knees or a tee shirt that is 10 time the price of another tee shirt just because it has the word GAP printed on it.
  3. So long as it's not at the kids, across the car park, while chugging on a long neck, at the local shops MB. Then it should be cool. Swearing is way more effective when it's used sparingly.
  4. Seriously, swearing loudly on the street is becoming socially accepted behavior in this country these days. I like to use some good ol adjectives as well, but I'm very mindful of when and where I use them.
  5. I F@#$%ng hate it. There's no !@#king need for it. People who !!@@#$#ing swear all the time just give me the s&*ts and are complete !@#$%&&*()ts

  7. The story about the 5 million people killed in the war in the Congo upset me, but not as much as this. GAP changed thier logo. Outragous!!!
  8. Nice one Tubby. That last shot looks a decent size.
  9. I've been to Singapore a few times but never really spent any time there. Thanks for sharing Pete.
  10. That sucks. Never once have I been slugged for surfboards or snowboards on any airline. A couple of my mates went to Pohnpei a few years ago. They didn't score though. This is about our 3rd week of onshore dribble here ....arrrggh!
  11. I agree with BM. It's more often not that interesting as a sporting spectacle as the competition is usually lop sided. Still, any opportunity for 70 countries to come together for any reason without shooting at each other is all good news. Also gives me another opportunity to post this. Australia 47 gold England 19 gold

  13. Hey.... No one has answered my question yet. Quote: So why aren't people (with jobs) lining up to buy real estate? Surely with zero or even negative growth, it's still a good investment. Borrow the money at 0 % and get a rental return of what, say 2 to 6%?
  14. Australia 32 England 12 I have no other interest in these games.
  15. So far the Delhi Commonwealth Games have been plagued by Dengue fever, angry monkeys, snakes, filthy toilets, shoddy construction, terrorist and bad curries. This antiquated, outdated and irrellevent relic from a by-gone era may be a farce, but there is one thing that we can all still enjoy (down-under that is). Australia 26 gold England 6 gold Come on ol'chaps.... What happened to the big surge toward London 2012??? Did the GFC make all the Aussie coaches unaffordable? Did you have to send them all back home?
  16. Telos is pretty heavily flogged here. Looks nice though. I get the impression it's a bit up market. Targeted at the older cashed up surfer that doesn't like it too big. Should be interesting Spook. Hope you score some swell.
  17. Yes, your senario is entirely possible G.N. and many young people are doing just that. Don't worry I'll be telling my kids about the caravan I lived in for 2 years while saving for a deposit. The gen Y, greedy, over indulgent, over their heads type is a bit of a media beat up. IMO. The $1000/week for expenses wouldn't go quite as far as you would think these days in OZ. MB that spike is a mere pimple compare to later years. You went from a ratio of 3 to 4 Not 4 to 7.

  21. Property prices in my little coastal town have dropped 30% from their peak 5 years ago. other areas have had some growth. MB I f your paying 7 % interest on an investment loan and you have zero growth for 5 years or more. you end up so far behind the eight ball that it does become a bad investment.
