  1. Congrats scouser and all the other Liverpool supporters. Am gutted but we didn`t score over 180min so can hardly say we were hard done by. Unfortunately didn`t get to see the game. Good luck against AC Milan, sounds like they`re making excuses already! Though a bit shocking that you could win the thing and then not qualify next year - what`s that about? Surely a Liverpool/Everton play-off would be far more entertaining?
  2. Damn it! Can I change my vote? Tsondaboy`s is clearly the coolest but I was distracted by the beautiful ladies!
  3. An interesting result, should set up a great 2nd leg. A great quote reported in the Guardian`s internet coverage: " As Steven Gerrard gives the ball away for the Nth time, the Sky commentator observes that "if you cut Jamie Carragher open he'll bleed red." A fascinating insight. "

Many hardcore fans would rather get there (or not) by hard work rather than huge never-ending amounts of money being thrown at their team. I know 2pints and other Chelsea fans will disagree, but there is a large contingent of Chelsea fans who are disillusioned and have mixed feelings about it all. Really. Man U were always the most hated team, then Arsenal, now Chel
  5. Has anyone ever heard of this - "In 1976 the British astronomer Patrick Moore announced on BBC Radio 2 that at 9:47 AM on April Fools' Day, a once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event would occur and that listeners could experience it in their very own homes. The planet Pluto would pass behind Jupiter, temporarily causing a gravitational alignment that would counteract and lessen the Earth's own gravity. Moore told his listeners that if they jumped in the air at the exact moment of this planetary alignment, they would experience a strange floating sensation. When 9:47 AM arrived, they began

I hope not, it`d be nice to actually win it with some fans in the stadium. Anyone got any links to Rooney`s wundergoal? Ah yes, the game Wednesday (Thursday morning right?), I`d be worried but I know your strikers will all injure themselves in bizarre accidents before the game even starts
  7. Was suprised to see that the Guardian`s readers were still significantly further left than any of the other main papers. Thought they`d have moved as much to the right as labour have.
  8. Here`s a political quiz for you Brits with some time to kill http://politicalsurvey2005.com/ Inevitably over-simplified but quite interesting to see how you compare to the rest of the UK. My results: Compared to the rest of the population Crime and punishment, internationalism Your position on this axis is -4.9 You are likely to be fairly internationalist and rehabilitationist. * 1.3% are significantly to your left * 7.1% have views about the same as yours * 91.6% are significantly to your right Economics, etc Your position on this axis
  9. The guardian`s asked ten scientists about threats to human existence and then rated them according to how likely they are to happen and their probable devestation: http://www.guardian.co.uk/life/feature/story/0,13026,1458536,00.html A summary: D=Danger to our existence (10 for total destruction) P=Probability that it`ll happen in our lifetime (70years) If nothing else this has the makings of a class new Top Trumps game.... 1) Climate Change D-6 P-High 2) Telomere erosion D-8 P-Low 3) Viral Pandemic D-3 P-V.High 4) Terrorism D-2 P-V.High 5) Nuclear war D-8
  10. have a look on www.lickmytaint.com for links to LOADS of torrent sites
  11. Bring it on! Everyone seems to be raving about Liverpool, should be a great couple of games. Especially considering the amount of goals we`ve started scoring and letting in. Don`t think either ones going to be 0-0. First leg is Wednesday 27th April at 20.45, which makes it a very friendly 4.45 over here. Just like Euro 04 again
  12. This is a link to a similar topic on SnowboardingUK. There might be some useful info there http://www.adrenalintrip.net/forums/viewtopic.php?siteid=3&topicdays=45&topic=92734&forum=1&16
  13. Looks like Jose`s going to get a pay rise to appease him. But this whole thing smacks of theatrics to keep Chelsea in the limelight. An excellent article in the Guardian about the Bowyer Dyer fight and other things http://football.guardian.co.uk/comment/story/0,9753,1453256,00.html Good to see Liverpool do well in Europe again I hope we can follow suit tonight.
  14. Interesting article from the guardian here about some Japanese marriages. `A survey of 600 women found that 26% had not had sex with their husbands in the past year.` http://www.guardian.co.uk/japan/story/0,7369,1451704,00.html Anyone want to sign-up as a sex-volunteer!
  15. Azerbaijan`s manager, Alberto, certainly doesn`t think much of him! http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,1563,1448997,00.html
  16. England are back to being 8hrs ahead so kick off is a little before 4am. May be worth it but I doubt it`ll be a cricket score like many people are expecting it to be. Another 4-0 would be a fantastic result, especially if Cole doesn`t let all the sudden praise go to his head.
  17. I think there`s a couple of glaciers in Austria that are supposed to be ok. Hintertux is the main one I think. Also Les Deux Alpes in France seems popular.
  18. England line up for the N.Ireland game: http://www.football365.com/news/story_147245.shtml cole on the left, terry replacing campbell, aside from that same as usual. Nice to see them in there, but then again I am a little biased
  19. Probably went for my last time on the 19th 20th last weekend. Had a great time playing in the park in Goryu with the sun and slush. Finally managed to 50/50 the long rail at the bottom and (just) managed to nail a couple of very clumsy 360`s on my last few attempts Got on the mountain 19 times this season - started powder riding, tree runs and off piste for the first time and I thought I was addicted before! All in all a great winter. Would like to make it into the 20s but the skibusses from here to the mountains have stopped and my money is running out
  20. The notion that Mourinho and his staff delibrately conspired to undermine the match officials in order to give them an advantage and then carried it out sounds completely exagerated. He made some hot headed comments that seem to be pretty typical of every manager after a game with controversial decisions. This was stirred up a bit but looks pretty pathetic compared to the hyping that was happening before the Arsenal Man U games this season. The way UEFA are talking it sounds like they`re getting in on the stirring game. If referees are going to be swayed by some trash talking there
  21. Ferguson may be on his way out! http://www.football365.com/news/premiership_news/story_147114.shtml well maybe next season...
  22. Interesting draw. I`d say we`ve both got a fair chance there, and the really dangerous Milan teams playing each other, very interesting. Good result for you over the weekend. The battle for second and fourth`s going to be class!
  23. Cheers for your reply powda, Am interested in doing it for myself. The charity thing is a bonus if it`s tenable. As you point out if I was solely serious about the charity side i`d be doing something else entirely. I want to find someway of doing it that makes it challenging enough for people to take the idea seriously and be able to raise a decent amount of money. There are a lot of very similar (though no doubt much more worthy) charity raising ideas. This interests me as a fundraising activity because it seems a little different and may get a different group of people and compa
