In my experience of both, you will likely be seeing more daily dumped snow in Rusutsu than you will in Furano....

What's the cost of living compare Tokyo vs inaka, I wonder. 5.3 million I imagine goes a whole lot further in inaka than in the middle of Tokyo.

Ha that made me laugh. Had a few tangles myself in the early days. But we could be much worse off with lots of old lifts and t-bars.

Depends really on what the dude wants. But it's pretty clear that Japan doesn't really do the skiing+shopping thing well together. I really want to check out Zermatt one day, though not for the shopping!

Never been too impressed with "omu-raisu" (omelette) but had a cracker last night. No idea how many eggs were used in it, but it was a lot! Pretty damned good it was with tons of filling. Oh yes, need to go back and take a photo.

I like the current "wasabi" boom there seems to be. Lots of wasabi flavored stuff, all good.

I wish I had gone more than I have.... but not 90!! If that's your bag though, then what a good bag it is.
