  1. From what I've seen, I've found that the ski patrol here are not very well experienced/equipped. My buddy (Japanese) cut up his chin and lip and when he asked them for a band-aid, a group of 5 of them had these puzzled looks and told him that he could go buy some at the omiyage shop because they didn't have any. We ended up asking the rental shop if they could hook us up and they did................are the First aid people in Japan as certified as the ski patrol in other countries?
  2. Whistler gets quite a bit. There website usually undershoots what they actually have. The local mountains in Vancouver have like 350cm right now. I was back there for the holidays and had a great time boarding. www.cypressmountain.com www.mountseymour.com
  3. you can find plastic goggle strap extensions that will help with the air coming in through the sides. Don't know what they are called though. Probably about 1000 - 2000 yen. I ride with my helmet all the time now. Keeps me warm and protects my noggin from the falls. My advice, wear a helmet or you will indeed regret it. Being concussed is not fun...........
  4. Hitting Hakuba tomorrow and MOnday.............oh yeah baby...........first day out in Japan (this season)
  5. They usually close on Easter weekend if my memory serves me correct. Shut down for like 1-2 months and then the glacier re-opens in like july or august. 10 / 12 months of the year ain't too shabby. Yeah, if you drop off the back of the peak chair on Whistler, there is tons of untouched pow and trees. Fun stuff............. The terrain park on Whistler is free, lots of jibbing going on, Blackcomb has some huge table tops but you have to pay like 15 bucks to use it on top of your lift ticket but its good for the whole season. There is also another terrain park on Blackcomb that is fre
  6. Whistler/Blackcomb is rated pretty much number 1 in NOrth America and its a world class resort. Good riding and good night life. Party it up while you're there! Oh yeah, the day passes are 70 bucks (yeah, expensive) but its good for both mountains. You can buy discount tickets from 7-11 in Vancouver. They don't sell them at the 7-11 in Squamish nor at the one in Whistler. They are about 50 bucks, 20 dollar discount so you you can't complain. The local mountains in Vancouver actually have more snow than whistler. I think Cypress and Symour have almost 400 cm. But when you ride
  7. Was there in December and it proved yet again to be hands down the best mountain I've ever ridden.
  8. Anyone know of any cheap places to stay in the Hakuba area? Anyone part of the tatami timeshare? My accomodations are no longer available. Looking for a place to crash on Sunday night. Hoping to go boarding on Sunday and Monday. Will provide groceries, cooking, and will bring my own sleeping gear. Will also provide some cash if needed.
  9. Hakuba, here I come! So what mountain are y'all gonna be riding?
  10. Which resort would you guys suggest for a guy who loves pow, fast rides, little hits, and the board parks?
  11. Has anyone been up to Ontake? I checked out their website and it looks quite small. Is it worth the 3 hour drive? ANyone think I should suck it up and drive the extra hour to Hakuba?
  12. Anyone riding in Hakuba this weekend? Calling all boarders...............
  13. Is that where you guys usually ride? How is it right now? I just got back from Vancouver and the snow is coming down. It's been pretty sik. You guys know if the expressways are really icey right now?
  14. Can someone tell me what resorts are within 1-2 hours of Iida (Southern NAgano) that I can go riding at? I don't want to hit Jibuzaka or Araragi (looking for larger mountains with POW and a board park). I'm looking for a resort where the ride lasts more than 30 seconds, none of that small shiz.
  15. Anyone got any tips on getting your body more horizontal when doing methods? I extend farther than a mofo when I do them but can't seem to get my body in a horizontal position.
  16. Dude, if you are imagining long as pow runs, you are correct! Hit it up man! IT has a little something for everyone.
  17. Anyone up for a boarding weekend somewhere in Central or Southern Nagano during the long weekend in January? Post a message and lets get something going. I'll be driving from the Iida area (southern tip of Nagano).
  18. Anyone else home for the holidays? Whislter was mad crazy yesterday. No clouds and powder all around! The nicest day I've ever had up there! How's the snow in Nagano right now? Gonna hit it up when I get back.
  19. muscle weighs more than fat so you may just be putting on muscle mass and not body fat. A good way to tell would be to analyze your body fat % whenever you weigh yourslef.
  20. Yeah, I hear you brother, I changed my mind just as I went off the lip of the table top and didn't get enough rotation on the back flip. Landed on my head and was out cold. Had to get towed down the mountain but yeah, I don't remember that either.
