There are some big cracks opening up in there, if you go in listen to what the patrol have to say carefully or else you may end in in one of the glide cracks like one of the group did today! -

AFAIK your pass is good for the season. They dont actually take you under the gondola, its down the valley over to the left, safe zone to safe zone one by one, the terrain is better than whats under the gondola. I asked the patrol about the tracks under the gondola and he reckons they are from poachers. -

Show up at the end of the lectures, if there is less than 45 people then you are in. -

Correct, Did the course today, they are on three times a day at the old gondola station at the top of the rope tow. You must ski with the patrol when you enter. First timers get priority over people who have done it before. Maximum 45 people three times a day. It is sick! -

Quite a lot of tracks in the area yesterday....dunno if they are just from poachers or if its game on? Not much information on what time or place these lectures are going to happen?? Would really like to know. -

I agree, I didn't mean to sound like I was bagging niseko, I have come every year since '03, I have seen it at its best and its worst! I have been to Tomamu before along with Furano,Rusutsu,Chise,Kokusai,Kamui and a couple of other little ones but Kurodake and Asahidake are still on the list thats all. -

I would definitely be spending some more time up that way next trip and do Asahidake,Kamui and Kurodake....that is if we don't head down to Honshu next time. -
