  1. Good deal. I actually have a spare pair from my predocessor but they are for normal skis. I know back home that sometimes ski techs can bend the brakes. Actually I have seen it done. That is what I am hoping to do. Wonder if they do that here. Hopefully as I don't shell out for bindings as well but if I have to well then I guess I have to.
  2. Now you have me really worried so after work I am going to order them. If I can't get them though I will prob just get my Fat skis shipped from Canada.
  3. I know. I left my house wearing my toque and jacket yesturday. After riding my bike for about five minutes I was sweating like it was summer. Crazy weather but will be gone soon.
  4. I will on Wednesday. Just have to wait for a quote from another ski store. So exited. New skis coming soon. Can't wait.
  5. Really. I'm not sure about them though. Not really a Fat Ski. Kind of a midfat and at 180 maybe a bit short for a midfat.
  6. That was a long post but the reward was great. Beautiful women. But maybe to summer looking. Must think snow.
  7. Hey Crazy. It was snowing in Takayama last night. Didn't stick but it was snowing.
  8. My ski store guy called the Rossignol rep for me and he said that they are really short in Japan for the Scratchs. Kind of sucks. But I have a couple options now. 185 Pocket Rockets - 52,000 180 Volkl V Pro - 55,000 183 Volkl Gotama - 65,000 So I will probably end up with the Pocket Rockets as the other good deal is for the V-Pro and they arn't actually that fat. But I like having options.
  9. Was also snowing in Takayama last night. Just not sticking. So exited. Hate this time of year. Can't handle it. Going to explode!!!
  10. They are important. Even on Groomers they help on balance. When your putting some huge GS turns down a groomed slope you can let them drag. well not really drag but with arms out, kind of like sensors or exstensions of your arms. They also help you stand up straight. Turn initiation Like someone said before. Bumps without poles are next to impossible. Skiing without poles is lame. Kind of like Snowlerblading. You can only progess so far without poles. Do we go to ski stores to look at the new 2004 model poles. NO NO NO. Usually just pick up a pair in the bargain barrel cut them
  11. How much are the 188's If they are not to much I may have to get them. The best deal I have been able to find so far is for the Pocket Rockets at 52,000. They are a good ski but I like the Scratchs more.
  12. Groups I really wany to see: Gwar and Black Sabbith or even just Ozzy alone.
  13. You could always buy them for me. I would be really happy with that. Of course I would pay you back. And a bit more of you fealt so inclined. And I would also buy you a beer or three if we ever get to ski together.
  14. If I tell you. I'll have to kill you. Those are mine. But its there if you look back like a dozen posts. I am having trouble getting a knowledgeable person to help me buy them. I really want them. Are there more than one pair.
  15. Yah they are 52,000 on the Yahoo Auction. Not a bad price. They sell the new G3 skins at my outdoor store in town. Kong. I think they are 16,000 or something.
  16. Last night I went and looked at the Yahoo Auction. I really liked the Scratch's. I am hoping to maybe inquire about them this weekend. New scratch's would be great. They are really nice skis. As for the tour I want to wait until I get either new skis or figure out if I am going to stay with my 1080's. My skins are cut for my old 198 vipers and if I am going to cut them way down I want to be sure I don't screw myself over by making them fit only one pair of skis. If I get the 182 Scratch's I should be able to cut the skins to be able to fit both pairs. So you see my problem.
  17. Favorite show of all time. Can watch them over and over. And then over and over.
  18. NIN Fragile Tour Amazing Energy, Sound and Lights.
  19. Thanks for the invite but have not completed my b/c setup. Only have my skins and a shovel. If I am lucky I will be getting a beacon for Christmas but that is still a bit away. Maybe in the new year. I have to get skiing soon though. I am going crazy. And where is Takasu. Sounds familier.
  20. I only have one pair and their not about to be burnt. But I have seen some old ones in garages around town. May have to do the old grab and burn.
  21. It's Long but interesting Ullr - The Man The Myth You know the feeling-you are on your skis working the rhythm, enjoyin' the speed, and suddenly for a few turns, you feel immortal. The feeling is difficult to describe but perhaps you sensed a little inspiration from Ullr…the god of choice among Scandinavians and backcountry snow lovers alike. Ullr, a.k.a. Uller, Ullin, Holler, Vulder, and Ull, is a pre-Viking era Nordic God and he kept fine company with the likes of Odin, Thor, and other esteemed deities. Among his many skills, he was the god of skiing, archery, hunting, and was k
  22. I know I Know. I just want something larger than 180 or pretty much 180 and up. I saw the Kahunas in Tokyo. The are by far the hugest friggin skis I have ever seen. Close to 200cm and super fat. I had to laugh out loud that they would even try selling them here. There are probably only like a dozen people in the world that could ever ride them. Thanks for all the info. Pray for snow.
  23. Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles. Just saw it last night. Pretty bad. Getting desperate in the Video Store.
  24. My school blocks out access to those sights. Thanks though. I think that the Scratches would be nice. But the problem in Japan is that they are always to short. I am 183 cm (6.1 feet) It's fine for twintwips like 1080 but with a powder ski I think that something beyond 180cm is needed. But the skis you found could be that long. I am not sure as I can't look. I will try and look this evening on the public computers around town.
