  1. 7 sounds good for me, you're being unreasonable. It's a wonder the poor fellow hasn't fired you with that kind of attitude.
  2. Can't find the thread about new years.....Off Topic or Snow Talk????
  3. The thing is, those boots are kind of cliched. I mean, though they appeal to the SnM in every guy, wouldn't you PREFER a girl in Wellingtons, at least she'd be a laugh.
  4. Gentlemen please, A nice Aussie girl in flip-flops or thongs as they re called down under is my style. I m with Ocean on the knee highs, corny as hell.
  5. I can not believe the man was moronic enough to think that the British public would be accepting of his farcical behaviour. As if we we re not going to throw our fish and chips at him and let our young ladies reveal their delicotte in order to defeat his noble endeavour. If he really wanted to choose a city for endurance acts why did he not go to Baghdad and endure being shot at and starved by US and UK soldiers.
  6. Saying what is on your mind. I'm never one to hold back, but the character trait has got me into some hot water recently, details CANNOT be provided. Anyone else here found being outspoken, the equivalent of being a leper whilst residing in Japan.
  7. It's what people do after taking a few to many pills, drink a bottle a water, dance and GURN baby!
  8. yuki....everyday? I feel like a wee " title="" src="graemlins/cry.gif" /> for times past..... talisker, your point is well recieved but I think most people responded to defend snow sports. When somebody pulls off something I could only dream of doing, my instant reaction is a cheer followed by a beer. I board for me, no one else. My enjoyment. The sport itself provides the challenge not other people. In fact, I like the fact that I'm not the greatest. Then I can then in the hope that, that beautiful Swiss Snowboarding Insructor will fall in love with me and our log cabin in
  9. Erhh, NoFakie they play him upfront with Big John Hartson....Giggs and Davies on the flanks.
  10. The whole reason I enjoy snowboarding is that it's fun to just get on with it and not worry about who's better....Think about it, all the sports you did in school etc placed you in direct competition....rugby....football....running. I would have to say that pulling something off that I haven't done before makes me feel good. As does boarding (or skiing) with decent fellows who are up for a jolly good time.
  11. Sorry...I mean 'horrific' in a good way. The films depiction of the Jewish Ghetto in Warsaw (1939-1945) horrified me, but when films are emotive, they get a big 'thumbs up' from me.
  12. All sorts of films. I like some Hollywood types, when Hollywood movies that are honest they are great. I like the realism of British and Australian films, my knowledge of French and Italian movies is rather on the poor side, shame on me. But to answer your question, documentaries or 'realist' films (kind of pseudo-documentary style) are my favourite type of genre. Just saw The Pianist directed by Roman Polanski.....horrific. Unfortunately the monopoly that US conglomerates have on production and distribution is strangling the life out of British movie making.
  13. My favourite kind of Coffe isn't actually coffee at all.....it's tea. And you can't get that is STARBUCKS can you? STARBUCKS is a horrible shite hole which should be flushed down the toilet hole of humanity...In fact just because some things are sold as 'coffee' and are dark brown, doesn't always mean they are coffee!
  14. Yes it is a "dead language", but it's an important part of European Culture and history. Many European languages such as Portugese, Spanish, Italian and French, as well as parts of English descend from Latin. It was the language spoken throughout the Roman Empire. It's "usefulness" doesn't really matter. Is it "useful" for the people of Kishiwada (Danjiri festival) to pull huge wooden floats through the streets of a modern city and risk their lives ? No.....it's tradition.
  15. Just get on with work, they are probably bored senseless with their jobs and thinking of the weekend!
  16. WARNING Don't wear the tweed jacket and gumboots when you go trout fishing in Wales or you'll be lynched. The Wye Valley is really good, though stock in the Wye River have been falling over the last couple of years. London is stupidly expensive city, the surrounding counties Surrey, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire,Kent, Sussex (East and West) are all expensive as well. You could try Essex, where the ladies have lax morals even by British standards.......
  17. I'm going to visit the place in a few weeks and would really appreciate some ideas on wher to stay, where to visit etc. I've only got about 60,000 yen and am coming from Osaka so I'm on a bit of the budget. Already taken a look at the Rough Guide, Lonely Planet. But they are no substitute for loacl knowledge. Cheers.
  18. I don't feel guilty. Though my actions do indirectly affect those in developing countries, no one person can be held directly responsible for the starvation etc in undeveloped/ developing countries. The most obvious thing you can blame is ideology, capitalist ideology, and to blame that you blame centuries of development and slaughter, exploitation and progress. All the great things that have happened within human history are equally tainted by our most evil and primal instincts. In fact you can go all the way back to roman era, who expolited the rest of Europe for their gain. And no dou
  19. "Every man is a Island", so metaphorically speaking old William is a country. That bit about the moon road nonsense, who reserches that kind of cr!p? He is still a bit on the geeky side though, saying that makes me feel better. But really, money doesn't drive a man like him, just the accumulation of power, like Murdoch, Packer, Trump (?) and the rest of the media tycoons.
  20. Ahh wonderful we have a pirate on the forum! It was probably just the same to Britney as kissing your mum, Madonna is old enough!
  21. Miteyak, I'm not familiar with Tall Poppy Syndrome, but I am aware of Fake Cockney Geezer I'm Actually From Surrey Syndrome.....
  22. As a nation I'd say the UK has more than its fair share of celebrity bashers. We've even dedicated a number or newspapers to this pursuit, The Sun, The Mirror, The Star etc etc. So who do you dislike the most? Does Madonna make you wanna throw a supermodel type tantrum or is Sly Stallone really just a dough eyed dimwit? Personally I'd plump for Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), about as fake a a Luis Vitton handbag on a Japanese subway train!? Closely followed by every grandma's favourite chef.....Jamie 'owite mate' Oliver.....
  23. Why won't your flatmates agree to being subject to your control??? Damn their ignorance nd stupidity! Have you mentioned they will also be fixing/ cleaning up the the damage and mess inflicted by you and your British mate on numerous occasions throughout the last ten years???? Never mind you can always move into another friends house and have a party there....and repeat the whole process, again anad agian anad again!
