  4. hey, glad u all enjoyed that pic. its at hakkouda, 9/1/2004. db, when were u in niseko again? we were there 20/12 to 4/1/2004. it was a multi-burst (or whatever its called) on a canon powershot camera, 12 shots taken over about 4 seconds i think (im pretty sure the canon takes 4 a second max.) then in photoshop, i used a soft-edge eraser to cut out the missus in each shot, & i cheated the position of her approaching the jump so you can see her (i had to "deep etch" her outline in those layers), & i cut out the actual kicker so that i could stick it on top of the approach
  5. my first attempt at this. unfortumately my lovely wife isnt exactly capable of cab-540-corkscrews, but she makes up for it in her animated style i found snow is very forgiving in photoshop when compositing this. forgot to do a brightness/contrast on it though. later. i will definately try some more of these this season in aus

  11. ok, i should said "these points from this article sum it up nicely" so fair enuff O11 - it was the first thing i found after a search that summarised what some consider to be the major reasons the US supports Israel. Although these things are impossibly to sum up really - there are so many factors... there are better articles around, i just dont have them bookmarked. its also about "plausible deniability" for the US govt though, right? supply weapons & "aid" when said country is doing what you want them to do, but cut off the weapons & aid when they dont do what you want
  12. from what i've read, a lot of powerful american jews are behind US government support for israel - the very existance of israel is there gurantee of salvation when judgment day comes, right? so they'll do anything to look after it. this article sums it up nicely >> http://www.guardian.co.uk/g2/story/0,3604,874824,00.html Quote: 1. Lots of these Christian folks are dispensationalists, who believe that we are living in the sixth dispensation, and the seventh (shortly upon us) will be a millennium-long earthly reign, based in Israel. (Warning note: We have to have a

  15. Cheers for setting me straight cobber! d=(^o^)=b said > Quote: Not at all mate, and I expect you of all good Oz types to understand what he is talking about (note - typical db crap follows): Wind loading – holding your breath cause your mate dropped his guts in the taxi. surface hoar – she dressed ok, but under the surface, she was a hoar. slab crown – drink one of these and you will go home with any surface hoar popular off-piste area – [any joke relating to getting on the piss will do here]
  16. you are of course 100% right FT - sorry - im just in a smart-ass larikin mood today & what you just said was exactly my attitude on my first 2 visits to niseko (& i did some ~really~ dumb things), but this last trip i was very careful. next time i go OS, i will do an avvie course for sure (not much point in doing one in oz i suspect... we dont get many avvies)
  17. its very uhm... technical! Quote: Wind loading on a pocket of surface hoar created a slab crown, 1m deep, on a convex role 300m below the obvious start zone on this popular off-piste area.
