  1. Howzabout: armada fleet arsenal stockpile battalion (all for military sidewinders)
  2. Where do we post suggestions for new topics of discussion during the "db zone"? I'd like to know who determines whether something is a fruit or a vegetable (and, no, I'm not talking about sexual persuasion nor semi-comatose patients). Peanuts? (all nuts for that matter) What about coconuts? Avocados? Every trip to the grocery store is fraught with embarrassment and confusion. " title="" src="graemlins/cry.gif" /> Does this explanation help or confuse matters more?
  3. Ocean: Don't judge until you see the movie. db: fyi, I picked up the dvd for you. I'll pass it to you soon. I was going to get one for myself too, but opted for "Super Session" instead.
  4. I saw that there is plans to build a SSAWS-like structure in Dubai soon as part of a huge entertainment complex (the so-called " Mall of the Emirates "). Quote: Offering a snow-covered atmosphere all year round even during soaring summer temperatures, the ski resort is expected to draw crowds from the region and beyond, eager to ski, snowboard or simply to experience real snow. Enclosed only with tall glass partitions, its winter environment and exciting activities will be in open view to shoppers in the mall, diners in the nearby restaurant area and guests from the overlooking r
  5. db: I'll pick you up a copy if I see it. Would be nice to have a surf flicks viewing party in the dead of winter. I did a bit of the opposite this summer, watching snowboard flicks with Mr. S when it was blazing hot outside. Surreal feeling.
  6. db: Looks like the dvd version is available in Japan. I'm sure I've seen it in Tower Records too; I'll check next time I go and let ya know.
  7. Probably going for a few days from January 18th (or thereabouts).
  8. Whoops! I see in the telemarking thread that the DC video was already discussed. I will attempt to make ammends by providing you this picture from the new Big Brother mag; she's the She-Weeman? Some scenes from the DC video are here.
  9. Ocean: I bought my "Dogtown" dvd at Tower Records in Shibuya; not sure where you can get it down in Boonysville there I'm trying to suss out the new DC video while I'm stateside right now; it's supposed to be killer (and even has some 'Boarding footage in there). I managed to pick up a new dvd put out by Girl Skateboard company; the staff at the skateshop was raving about it, but I'll post my own review later.
  10. Nori-chan: "spooning" is when a man and a women lay very close together in the same direction "like spoons in a drawer"... (note: this is quite innocent in and of itself, but may lead to quite decadent behaviour...and warmth.) It should not be done in conjunction with crooning a tune under the moon out in the boonies.
  11. We may be friends, but I still think you're a dirty slob heathen.
  12. mogs: Are you a Spawn of Evil fan??? That was filmed right near my home were I grew up...
  13. Not sure if this belongs in the "Boots boots boots" thread or here:
  14. IceEiji: Please feel free to wear rock band t-shirts as long as you do not wear the band's t-shirt when you go see the band (ie Wear an Iron Maiden t-shirt when you go to see an Iron Maiden concert). That is a serious no-no and you will be pummeled by the fashion police if you do so.
  15. MistaS: I've seen some articles claiming that the "quake clouds" have been studied for at least 10 years, with some pundits claiming that ancient peoples used this method to predict imminent earthquakes. Here's a pretty comprehensive website on this "science".
  16. I didn't even feel it, but I was walking rather quickly outside and had headphones blasting. So many people in my office have become interested in the color and formation of clouds ever since that scientist made the big one prediction. I hope Panawave can save us!
  17. ender: I have some friends who have been to all of those places recently; we can meet up with them when you get here for smoe advice. They've got guidebooks, maps, personal experiences, the works...
  18. Here ya go, dims; a mother sloth slowly cuddles her baby:
  19. ender: I've been to Shiga Kogen once for a 3 day trip. Found it to be more of a skiers resort though: - had alot of narrow flat areas you needed to traverse to get to different areas - had some "skiers only" areas - had an older egg-shaped gondola that did not accomodate boards very well On the positive side, it is quite expansive; you can explore alot of courses over a few days. On the very negative side, I did not find alot of easily accessible off piste areas.
  20. Last year we had heaps upon heaps of powder around New Year's, but I heard that was unusual. But it was heaps, I tells ya!
  21. I can definately tell you that I'm NOT the best. But I have the best time and enjoy myself. I heard that cheeseman is the best. He's just so modest that he won't even mention his ability.
  22. Come on, people! It's George "The Animal" Steele! Wrestler supreme! I used to love when they carted him out and he'd start chewing apart the corner cushions in the ring. Feared because he was so unpredictable. Nice to see him get some respect with a part in the Burton "Ed Wood" flick. But my favorite from that time was Jimmy "Supafly" Snuka, shown here with one of his patented leaps from the top rope:
