Tateyama got new snow you can see the new slides. Kamikouchi is a debris mess this season, Heard from friends. Tateyama wouldnt take much planning if you stayed in a lodge there. Stay in the one in that saddle and you can be on the peak very quickly. I would carry crampons just in case. the little cheap 4 pin ones wounld be fine enough really. Fuji in November??? No mountians to shelter you usally means shear ice. My father inlaw spent 2 months in the hospital after death sliding down Fuji. -

Youll need a least a meter of snow before you can run Fuji in November. -
Hakuba vs Shiga Kogen
Fattwins replied to Tommymitch's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
In Hakuba the biggest boom is the house market where J-peeps are moving from nagano, matsumoto, Tokyo to retire etc. So you might want to explain what Hakuba is becoming? -
Hakuba vs Shiga Kogen
Fattwins replied to Tommymitch's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Shiga Kogen Has zero nightlife, no crowds, lots of lifts, limited night skiing, trees are somewhat allowed depending on the area. Hakuba has better nightlife but it is still growing. no crowds at your planned time, limited night skins, Trees permited at Some resorts. Night skiing at Niseko is maybe the best in the world besides somewhere back in the eastern US in a snow storm. It costs a fortune to run and invest in those lights. You wont night ski in shiga or hakuba. -

Good TR Glad you made it! -
That is a load of BS. In General. You have some people saying that all you are going to get is this. When you dont get it and are sold on it then you get upset. If I went to the beach in auz for 1 week and saw clouds and rain then why would I be happy. That does not make me a control freak that makes me human for believing the trip would be no other way.
