I had a police incident today (see driving in Japan thread). He was a friendly one, possibly after feeding the pigeons earlier on today....

I got stopped by the police this afternoon when I was driving - they were doing random license checks! Aaaarrrhhh! I still have my International - not found the time to get the Japanese one - and the thread on here came in my mind immediately. The policeman actually told me that since June of last year we can't have an Intl license for more than 1 year. I think he misunderstood me when I said I was back home in December, he said that I will have to get a J license in the next month. Luckily he was quite friendly, but now I'm going to go and get my Japanese license.

newtoallthis - heavy snow is bad for practice not only in terms of technique and learning to ride competently, but also coz it hurts bad when you fall on non-soft snow. Definitely hit the better snow

My lady told me she writes about 150. It takes about a week of evenings to do it. She would "want" to send out maybe 20 of those.

I would have thought looking at that middle blue picture there it was fairly clear. You can ride most of it without getting off your plank(s), apart from between Maruike and the Kumanoyu part (in the bottom right) where I there is a bus that takes you the few hundred meters to and from. Walk it if you want too, but I wouldn't want.

There's been lots of talk of not much after hours fun in most resort towns etc. But where is the best if we are specifically looking for it?

Take a look at the photo - there's a little keyboard on the thing. You can also enter on a software keyboard or by writing the text (Graffiti?) This was really cool.....turn the display round to bend back down on itself, and the whole display switches so that it is the same way round. Very cool. I don't think I explained that very well...hmmm sorry.
