What about Korea?
scouser replied to akibun's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Alas, akibun, it was not to be. They did good though. Only complaint is the almost constant boo-ing whenver German even touched the ball, that wasn't too nice. -
Fair reffing last night, shame about the result

What do you all reckon on the refereeing boobies made at the Cup this time, footy fans? While mistakes are only human, I just can't see why they don't have video-refs to help the ref in the games like they do in rugby. It just doesn't make sense, and I can't find an explanation as to why they don't have them anywhere. Anyone actually know? Lets hope the last few games are ref'd well, not by some scally who can't keep up with the pace.

This thread should perhaps be renamed "Whats the atmosphere like in Korea now". It looks wild over there. -
another one bites the dust

There's been a lot of decisions that have been interesting to say the least this time. I always can't understand why on earth they don't have a video referee like in rugby where any ???? can be sorted out with video evidence there and then on the spot. It makes so much sense. -
I'm sure it does, SamuRye. 'd rather have a poster meself.

Its a wild tournament, ain't it? Got to give it to the Korean lads though, they did a real smashing job, as one of my uncles would say. -

It was bound to happen I suppose, but sad anyway..... Seamen gets stick as England bow out: press LONDON, June 22 (AFP) As a nation drowned its sorrows, the British press blamed England's defeat in the World Cup quarter-final squarely on the broad shoulders of goalkeeper David Seaman after he was hoodwinked by a bizarre free-kick winner from the Brazilians. A press with a tendency to over-hype England's chances was instead trying to nurse English hangovers Saturday by explaining why the nation's footballing dreams were over. "Once again England tread the trail of tears: a quadren -

OK had a bit of time now. It was not an impressive match. One thing I do really hope for though - no backlash about Seaman. He may have made a blunder today against a sublime free kick from Mr Sad Hair (looks like a scally!), but until now he has done a superb job. -
Officially gutted. But the boys did well.

Before the game - predictions. I've got to go with the boys. If they get the first goal: 2-1 to England.

Have you seen this folks? =========== Italian club sack Ahn as payback for knocking out Azzurri Rory Carroll in Rome Thursday June 20, 2002 The Guardian It made him South Korea's hero but Ahn Jung-hwan's golden goal also appears to have earned him the sack from Perugia as part of Italy's backlash against its shock exit from the World Cup. That he scored just one goal for the Serie A club last season rendered his historic strike in Tuesday's match all the more treacherous, according to his employers. "That gentleman will never set foot in Perugia again. He was
