  7. Sounds like a bit of a nut job ^^ We had one guy (French) do a runner on the weds after the quake. He came back last weekend. No-one said anything about it but I believe everyone is thinking the same thing.
  8. We considered it but prices were so high and getting higher every day. Its the oil surcharge isnt it, it is 5man per person to europe now. We are gonna go for xmas, I go tmy ticket already on airmiles. But the oil surcharge is rumoured to be going up again in the summer, so it is going to cost me about 12man per person i reckon.
  9. +1 we never clean when we leave. of course we leave it empty, but dont bother to vacuum etc. ive never had to pay cleaning fee.
  10. I get the 'fat/skinny' comments at least once a month at work from various J-colleagues who pop in from time to time. I presume it is just a kind of aisatsu that is acceptable here.
  11. I got accounts on JP and EU PSN so hoping I can get free games twice I can never get onto PSN though, server seems to be down everytime I try.
  12. According to the laws of the game is is OK, so obviously they cant be fined for it. I just meant in terms of the spirit of the game it is sickening to watch. I was surprised the crowd didnt get onto them more. They should have stopped pretending to play though. They might as well have just left the ball on the centre circle and given each other back rubs.
  13. I'm thinking to give it a go and see what happens. Worst thing that happens is I get ripped for 3000 yen or customs add on a markup. But if I can me find a good sellah den I is totally gonna be busting out da bling man! Is gonna be wicked!
  14. Has anyone seen this TaoBao website? http://www.taobao.com It is basically Chinese eBay. Theres tons of brand stuff on there for dirt cheap. Brand new Banana Republic trenchcoats for 1300 yen etc. Anyone had any experience buying from this or similar site?
  15. Both teams should get fined for that, it was really sickening to watch that go on for 10 minutes.
  16. That is seriously a good idea about the hawaii shirts. Lets "moving out of the victorian days and into the days of casual work clothes"!
  17. My point is that a citizen is bound by the laws of his country. In this case, the law at the time said it is not illegal to kill jews in the gas chambers. It is not workable to, on the one hand say that someone must obey the law, and on the other hand say it is ok to break the law if you think that law is wrong. That is what this ruling is doing, it is punishing him by todays laws instead of the laws of the day. If you do that, it is a dangerous precedent because it implies that if you follow the laws of today you may be later punished when the laws change.
  18. good article about what happened at fukushima: http://www.sustainableplant.com/2011/05/nuclear-power-plant-safety-following-fukushima/?start=0
  19. Is he being punished for brutality or for accessory to murder? If the latter, surely 5 years is not enough for 28,000 murders. This raises the question of what counts as "accessory". In the case of a gang killing, it is easy to see how someone is supporting the murder. But in the nazi case it was totally different. Killing Jews was institutionalised: the government was behind the idea. In that case, it is a paradigm shift. He was operating in an environment where it was NOT ILLEGAL to do what he was doing. Then, 70 years later, we try to prosecute him from a *different parad
  20. Quote: A German court has found John Demjanjuk guilty of helping to murder at least 28,000 Jews at a Nazi death camp in World War II. He was sentenced to five years in prison, one year less than prosecutors had asked for. Prosecutors said the Ukraine-born Demjanjuk, 91, was a guard at Sobibor camp in Poland in 1943. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-12321549 How do you feel about this? My personal feeling is that, of course, killing people in gas chambers was complete evil. However, I feel it is not fair to punish this individual for his part in it. I would imagine that h
  21. Yes friends: a new dawn, a new day. King Kenny is bringing in the fresh young blood, demanding 100% say on transfers. The Kenneth era beginneth!
  22. By coincidence I got an iphone from work yesterday (we are making an iphone app), but as I expected my feeling towards it is 'meh'. It came in handy this morning to check the footy result on the train to work, but beyond that I can't imagine when I will use it. (And I can survive 30mins to wait to get to work to check that kind of thing). Its a pain to type on it, and I do not spend much time on the road, so for me it seems not much use. I think these things are good for salesman types who are always out the office, possibly for students with a lot of free time too. How do yo
  23. If only the season started in January, we would be 2nd. Still, it all bodes extremely well for next year. I think it will be our year.
