  1. snowboards use to have inserts, to fix the binding with screws on the baord a burton snowboard (3D system) looks like this: nose -> ( .:.: .:.: ) <- tail (the dots should show you the inserts , the single insert would be in the middle...) all the other snowboards (4x4 system) looks like this: ( :::: :::: ) the distance between the holes are standart and should be on every board the same (kissmark might be special ) hope you understand this...
  2. my custom made "cosmic board" (made by doorslammer, switzerland) might be my favorite. its royal blue, with yellow stars and a "cosmic sign" on the nose and the "Jamiroquai buffalo man" in the middle of oval yellow rings, on the tail. on the base are 2 huge blue buffalo man head to head on blue/yellow foggy ground. i designed it by my self. but the edges are unfortunately damaged... on the other side was my tanker (180cm) from radair.com also verry special...
  3. best: hakuba cortina, niseko worst: nozawa (the snow was verry heavy and wet. a local told me that this is usual there...)

(be aware!!)
  5. burton invented the 3d (3 screws) system and saved the patent for it. so the other manufacturers had to pay or to invent another system. i guess it's just the stubborness of burton, cause they didn't get theyr inovation paid.

Anyone know? i think not, it's written on almost every lift ticket or park that the companie don't take responsibility for accidents, happend coze you use the terrain. i think they have to take resposibility if a tree would fall on you on a slope, if a gondola would fall down or if you get ishured by a rope stretched over a the slope....
  9. advanced boarders can close and open the binding at almost every place without sitting ...

  11. tsugaike and goryu are cool CORTINA USED TO BE MY FAVORITE BUT WITHOUT THE DOUBLE BLACK DIAMOND CLUB IS IT BIG S**T!!!! (managers of cortina, i hope you see that!!!)
  12. flowlab rocks!! i was really sceptical when i saw it first. the shopowner allowed me to try it and its surprising! it is not harder than skateboarding!!! about the other board i'm a little scared, i never really tried it but the little weels under the axes look a little scarry to me... but the cheapest way to enjoy something like snowboarding is to built some fat skateboardaxes and some soft weels under your old snowboard! about the video games, did someone tested the snowboard game on the x-box??? its amazing!!
  13. i was last winter for almost 5 months in japan. a long time in tokyo but also 2 months on the skifields between hakuba and hokaido. i'm verry impressed how friendly japanese people were to me.
  14. the post in japan started to have new withdraw machines!! forget your visa and mastercard in banks, look for the post offices, you can get cash there with them and with cirrus and maestro too! otherwise is japan verry safe to have alot of cash in your wallet, just don't fool arround with your money (as you wouldn't do in your hometown too...)
  15. just check out, http://www.sbhistory.de/ it's too long to write about it here...
  16. xxx, do you know "ska ska club"??? it's a japanese ska-punk band, i like them!! but last year was it the hate, allways when i got in to hard core riding i heard "your everything, your everything, your everything la la laaa la la la laaaaaa....." (the la la la's where in japanese and i couldn't understand them.) but that song was so ugly!!!!!!!!!!!! HATE!!!!!!
  17. ok we'll try it again! regular and goofy are ways to stay on your board! regluar = left foot as front foot goofy = right foot as front foot you choose one and that's enough for your entire life! the best way to figuere out if you are goofy or regular is, to use a skateboard or to slide (over an icefield with your boots or on a wooden floor in the socks...) regular and goofy is almost the same as you drive with a car in japan on the left and in america on the right side. switch and fakie means "riding backwards" switch is more common to discribes jumps and tricks, fa
  18. yes, this is "official" and used since the birth of snowboard.
  19. nozawa onsen has this litle bar on the main street. i forgott the name but it's downstairs close to a game center. the locals there are mainly hardcore freeskiers. if you go there and you see a nice girl named yuki, tell her she should mail me again!!!! :0)
  20. depends on where you are... if you search them, go to hirafu and hokkaido, if you want to avoid them go anywehre else...
  21. hard to say, cause when i was in shiga it didn't snow much. but i think, when you search pauda then go better for hakuba (even if the double black diamond club at cortina get closed this year)

Colorado is melting. and there is no snow here in Wisconsin. We're usually covered by this point. such a drag. and pres bush didn't sign the kyoto treaty, it's only going to get worse. . going to have to move to Alaska. ehm.... wasn't it "your" president who thought that the global warming isn't a problem and who canceld the kyoto protocoll??? Don't take it personaly, i just had to say that! sorry!
  23. ehm..., there are thousands of them, you just have to be as fast as they are... i know, 2 or more nice girls in hirafu, some in oze tokura, a hardcore skiing girl in nozawa, a cute little beginner girl (who i loved to help, of course)in shiga and many more! but sorry, i can't tell you names or where they worked! they would kill me!! and i like to come again boarding in japan...
  24. it is new! but i think you just can use it to go from your hotel to the next bar. but if you are hardcore freestyler and you don't mind to fall on your ass, just buy it! or make your own, (skatedeck, a soft mat, 8 spacers, 8 screws, and one of those small carving skis)
