Went out with a load of friends the other week to a place that was honestly more of an izekaya, but had a hostess owner. We ended up being charged over 6000 yen each for just an hour and a half. We aren't going there again.

Got some Belhaven's Twisted Thistle from the local yamaya. It's actually very drinkable this year. Also have a bottle of Epic's Smoked n' Oaked saving for a special occasion. Strong stuff, but bloody hell it's nice.

I referee at high school karate tournaments (my job is partly as a karate coach at my high school), and usually after a tournament is over the referees get together for a drinking party. As most of these referees are former karate athletes themselves, you would have thought that they would be looking after their own health quite sensibly. However, the amount of smoke that is puffed out by these people is incredible. Like many other people have already posted, I'm not too comfortable with that amount of cigarette smoke and I often make my own excuses and leave early.

Today was the first day in a long while that I've had an all-day hangover. Frickin' Hanami.

My board is now a very dirty Bertie after playing around in melt for the last ride out. So, the question is should I blast the base with cleaner and get it spotless before handing it over to the tuning guys, or will they take care of it for me? Or it is just plain etiquette?
