  1. this is something that was weird to me in Japan. Kabab's come on sticks. A Gyro is the meat in a pita.
  2. Oh hey guy... I read this topic title like a Seinfeld joke. (slap bass sound effect) now I'm thinking of it like a finish this sentence sort of thing. English in Japan is... Honestly though it doesn't really seem to matter. It might save you a bit of frustration, but not being a dick is pretty universal.
  3. not in a perverse way. I have female friends from visiting from outside the area, and it's gonna suck for me to have to sit by myself. In my community skinny dipping was the norm in the summer for no other reason than it was hot and we didn't have bathing suits.
  4. anyone ever drink Juyondai? I've read it's one of the best. There is a liquor store in my city that stocks it, but it's ridiculously expensive.
  5. I rode Marunuma-Ishiushi yesterday. It was great! it's connected to Gala too. Maybe not for a beginner. Joetsukokusai has really great/easy/cheap access by bus from Tokyo.
  6. srzly tho? why is famous? that's the queens English right?
  7. I'm down for a trip up to Fukushima. Let me know if anyone would like a ride.
  8. So I'm staying at Joetsu Kokusai Ski Resort in Niigata, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any co-ed onsens in the area? I found a few, but from the looks of the info on their sites they don't have daily access to the baths only, just overnight packages.
  9. Great point having a solid core to begin with will help prevent back pain, and riding a bike will keep your legs in shape. The evening after; onsen, then hydrate, then party. Next morning chu-hi or beer, and painkillers. repeat daily.
  10. Chile and New Zealand. If anyone has any leads on work or places to stay for free-ish. Please let me know. Yo se habla. Yo queiro trabajo!!
  11. Very cool, nice to quasi-meet you all. I'm gonna be staying til the 10th, maybe. Yeah I first visited 新潟 last season, and I was able to visit a few hills. It's great for me, because there is a ton of snow and it's only about two hours from where I live. Which is not a great distance to travel, but having grown up ten minutes from the nearest ski resort I'm a bit spoiled.
  12. Hi, my name is Ian. This is my first day posting to the forum. I am currently staying at 上越国際. If anyone is around let me know. I'd be happy to meet up with anyone.
