I am starting to like more and more - it does allow for a lot more "customization", but this of course takes a bit more setting up. One complaint - the power off / restart is under the settings menu - this should surely have its own button?

Well we bit the bullet and bought a new PC - Windows 8 certainly takes a bit of getting used to, but thanks at least in part to getting a solid state system hard drive, it boots up from off in about 20 seconds and is ready to start working straight after logging in (unlike my work laptop which needs 5 minutes after logging on until it is ready to actually do any work.

I am not having any issues with battery life with my black edition - but I have generally not been using the wifi, so perhaps that is the culprit?
