I would say at least 2 metres back. 42inch would blow you away from that distance I would think.

I'm sure this thread has been done before but I need a little help choosing a TV. These days it seems that bigger is better and everything's getting so cheap. I read in a catalog that if you have around 2 metres of viewing distance you should be looking at a size over 42 inches! There are so many TV's being made now, it's hard to really find the right one... So everyone, is bigger better? Did you worry about the specs before buying? The more you look into it the harder it seems to choose...

near Shirakawa (way down south in about the middle of the prefecture). probably about 60-70kms away from the nuclear reactors.

My parents are freaking out about the reactors and wondering why I'm not fleeing Fukushima. Thanks for the link SJ, it was a reassuring read. As soon as we get some fuel and the nuclear situation calms down I wanna take a week off work and go help with the clean up.

wow, that was scary here in Fukushima. Never felt a quake last so long. Thought the whole school was gonna come down. Anyone closer to the epicenter won't have power for a while and with the phones down you probably won't hear from them for a while. We had no power for a few hours and now there's probs with the nuclear reactor and people within a 3km radius have been evacuated.

Just wondering if nearly all people living in Niseko have 4wd cars? Can you get by with a 2wd? In what kind of situations would you have to have a 4wd?

My work hours have been reduced by 15 mins this year! It almost feels like a pay rise. 8:10 - 4.40 now. How about everyone else? How long are your working hours?

got my results today. 80.5% on 1kyu. a little bit better than i expected. listening was a bit disappointing with only 87/100. should have got 100 for that. Writing/Vocab 70/100 and reading grammar 165/200. thank god that's over! how'd everyone else do???

I think they seem to be getting harder. I did some past papers from the early 90's. There was a lot of 2kyu grammar in the 1kyu.

Dairy farming is a lucky article??? Of course the listening is the easiest but i was counting on getting around 90% for that part but i'm sure i got about 4 or 5 wrong. The key is the reading comprehension. It's weighted with a lot higher marks than the other sections. Can I ask what you got for the question about the environment in this section? It seemed that people have to take care of the environment seemed like it was too easy an answer so i went for people have to look after other people. How did you interpret that piece?

I thought the first listening part, looking at the pictures had some hard questions. I kept waiting for the repeat but it never came.. you have to concertrate really hard. The second half was easy though. That last question, i think everyone was trying hard not to burst out laughing and get an automatic red card..

So how did everyone go yesterday? 1kyu was alright. Surprisingly listening was a bitch. Not sure if i did enough to pass but i was satisfied with it. Bring on the start of Feb!
