  1. Really? That's your retort. Crikey, the German sense of humour is really rubbing off on you isn't it? Who am I? I am someone that supports this site and the snow industry in Japan. I'd like to think that sometimes I help people who come over here to enjoy the snow industry. Who are you? Back on topic, pound yen at 126. If another month of trade deficit occurs, will it get worse? Jim Carry in Cable guy. JEEEEERRRRRRRKK OFFF
  2. I think that is the sentiment of most Japanese people. Unless you were a Japanese exporter. Tourism for Japanese is big, The Industry would like the Japanese to travel domestically. But foreign tourism is not something that the Japanese reled on or will rely on. Maybe with the aging community that might change, Geriatric care will become a major industry imo. Japan makes its Yen by raw material import processing and exporting. S.Koreans have exceeded and are on top now. The prioriy now and the next 10 years will be recovery and reconstruction from the Quake and that is connected to tied
  3. You know, Changing your user name to MIJ was a good move. Always thought Robdumm or Smartarse suited you better. How many times have I told you to ignor me and you come back with this crap about positive and constructive. whf do you think you are. Too many beers pickled your brains or what?
  4. What you And most Westerners don´t understand is that there are no humane wars. War is about genocide to some cultures. You kill the bloodline because there will be revenge. The Japanese and Arabs know this concept well. Revenge killing was a licence that was given In Japan. There are no quarter given when it comes to war. The army that looses are hunted down. Japan does not conduct tribal warfare like American Indians or Aboriginies. You kille 3 of our men so wil kill 3 of yours and we go home. No one who when to war in Japan expected to return alive. The honourable discharge was death
  5. Wow. That is the biggest propaganda bullshit that I ever heard lol. Serves as a good example that people can be fed any pictures to justify a purpose and they will eat it. You don´t seem to understand the war between Japan and the US was a war of hate. On both sides, they didn´t care if they were mass slaughtered. That was the general feeling amongst people. The European front between Germans and US were a different history. The guilt that the Japanese carry is probably more about how the Japanese society changed after the war. Also towards the Chinese and Koreans about things du
  6. Globalisation happened since 2000 BC. Jesus probably went to India in his days. You guys are talking 10% fluctuation on an amount that is less than 5G. and for something that is a pretty even price across boarders. Sure there are over rated currency like Brit pound but in essence, coffee 3 dollars, 3 Euro, 300 Yen, nothing to fuss about. Back in the 70´s being a teenager and living in Japan paying 300 - 360 to a dollar and paying 400000 yen for a return trip to Australia. Travelling was expensive. Cost of imported products was like ... Geez, it must be only for show to pay for something
  7. I am in the opinion that WW2 has never ended. It has just stretched out to regional conflics and past alliances changed. However national interests have never changed . So any history told is based on the teller. Also people want to believe in certain stereotypes of war history. Bradly writes a good version called The Imperial Cruise. Coming from an American, it is refreshing - balances things out. What is interesting and long lasting are the effects of the war in a particular country. Japanese and German are ingrained with guilt. Americans? I don´t see much guilt in them for dropping 2 at
  8. Alcohol and beer is in your genetic make up. I read somewhere, that once a German king wanted to ban all the cofee shops that have sprung up after the discovery and import of coffee ... Reason - his subjects were getting too intellectual and losing aggression.
  9. I think you need a change. Obviously you like teaching and you can always get back to that. I´d like to go back to teaching when I´m 60. If you are moving every 2 years, why not just move all the time? Be a bum. Live out of a van. Fish and hunt. Paying rent is a killer! I can survive being out of the grid and happy not living in a faraday cage (most house and apartments) The catch22 is how to get the extra money to do stuiff like snowboarding. mmm.. that doesn´t help you much. If there is a will, there is a way .. here we go
  10. You need money if you want distraction Ipps. Get a hacky sack. or devil sticks
  11. I hate it. Even now. It just taste like vitamin B tablets and it stinks. I don´t like fizzy drinks either. I hate coke. People don´t seem to understand when they offer me beer and then ask me if I´d like a coke instead.
  12. No way. So trivial. Example. skydiving is know as a money sport. you get what I mean? We don´t whinge about jump ticket prices. I used to pay 300-360 Yen to a dollar. We are not talking national economic issues. swallow it. Or is this some Scot and Yank issue about the evil of paying out the green buck. Your choice really. If you can´t pay for your smoke, stop smoking.
  13. Back on topic, Does current exchange rate got anything to do with general snow topic ? Only thing that is in common is speculation lol. can´t dig this is going on for 9 pages.
  14. I reckon too. but I wonder how one feels after living in a cold place for a while. I can live for winter but there is summer. Give me hot summer no worries. Just skip the humidity btw lol.
  15. Brazillians have a lax attitude. Most bands consider their downöoads as free and promo ad, and make their money at live concerts. Like if you like us, come and support us at live! I like it.
  16. According to my missus, in Germany. Beer 16 (but most drink at 12 at home) tabbaco 16 vodka 18
  17. Have problems with it in Germany, too. Sony and Emi sucks. Wish people upload it without sound track TBH. ( I appriecate the effort though )
  18. Awsome I wish I can ride like that... what board is your missus riding.?
  19. Any tips on the river crossing? TBH the only thing I crossed was a very shallow thing that is in Naeba and that was in ski boots. I´ve seen people just wade in getting wet, that I thought crazy, lol. Is there something you watch out for? Thanks.
  20. Not sure if I´d go for that. I did want to check out the kiwi club scene but that put me off. I´d rather skin up. T-bars no worries.
  21. wow.. not a bad idea. shaping channels on the surfboard is not a new idea, but no one thought about that to use for snow and put p-tex in between. Plus that flexible fin. Back to single fins, oi ... No reason to think that it won´t work in water. But sure does pick up a lot of bumps on the mountain. Made me think - I should just go with it when things are bumpy ! Will I ride one of them? Probably not. I´m not a surfer any more. It is an inspiration for me cos I am making my own board ... Wish carbon was a bit cheaper.
