I'm down 2.5 kgs in 5 days doing a low carb diet and my regular exercise routines. It's been easy actually. I've been eating eggs, bacon, hamburgs, salad, fresh veggies, etc all week. Really though, I'm just trying to get back to my normal weigh so just losing the extra I put on while in Canada.

It's an amber ale so it uses different malts than a normal Ebisu. It's got a slightly sweet caramel flavour and a slightly bready / nutty kind of chewiness to it. In my opinion, it's the best macro brew beer in Japan. Of course there are better amber ales/lagers but then you pay craft beer / import price.

Kohaku is the best beer in Japan. Definitely not liking the aki aji as much this year. Tastes a bit watered down or something. I think they must have changed there grain bill because it doesn't have that same malty chewiness as before.

My wife brought back a small suitcase full of chocolate. Too much in fact! Since we started going to Costco there is a lot less that I want to bring back with me. This time I only got: Maple syrup Hollandaise sauce mix Montreal smoke meat spice rub Ice wine Clothes that actually fit 2.5kg of fat in my belly (the clothes don't fit too well anymore!!)

Does it come with a straw hat and a long piece of straw to hold in your teeth? I had one like that when I was a kid... it was a toy of course!

We keep our chocolate in the vegetable area of the fridge and it seems to go the trick. On our fridge it's a separate drawer at the bottom so has a different temp control.

By the time I walked home smelling it e whole way I ended up devouring it without taking a picture. It was delicious and I'll be going back so will try again!
