It's a cloudy morning after some light snow falling early on.

Light snow this morning and the first day of the season for the Takamagahara Mammoth ski area.

Some more snow on the ground this morning (just a little) with more to come through tomorrow.

Kumanoyu is open from this morning.

I am happy to report that we have received a decent fall of snow overnight.

It might be raining lower down in the valley, but up here in Shiga Kogen it is a cold, snowy and windy morning.

It's Friday, 17th May 2024, and the last day for the ski lift of the season at Yokoteyama, wrapping up the season in Shiga Kogen.

Golden Week is over and today it's 'back to work' for many. It's a grey, cloudy and damp morning. A bit windy, too.

Some pretty rough weather around Wednesday but the Route 292 connecting us with Gunma is now open. That means you can get to the base of Shibutoge, too.

Yesterday was cold. It started off wet and then we did actually get some snow! Up to 5cm or so in places. Always great to see snow.
