Nozawa Onsen is this morning reporting a whopping 70cm of snowfall on the upper Yamabiko area since yesterday morning (with 60cm of that since 3pm yesterday); also, 43cm on Uenotaira.

There's not a whole lot to report this morning, but I'm just excited about opening tomorrow.

This morning there snow on the mountain is visible from base, but not quite down to base.

After a 6+ month break, I'm back and all recharged and excited about the upcoming 2020-2021 winter season.

It's Friday 17th April 2020 and it is the last day of the ski and snowboard season here in Nozawa Onsen.

The resort has made the decision. Tomorrow (Friday 17th April) will be the last day of the season at Nozawa Onsen.

It may be 10th April but it is snowing and the lower slopes of Nozawa Onsen once again are looking white.

After that blast of winter yesterday (resort reporting another 8-9am on mountain by mid afternoon), it is cloudy this morning with some limited visibility down low - better higher up - at the start of the day.

Hello from Nozawa. And back to white.

This morning the resort is reporting another 5cm on the upper areas of the mountain and adding that to what they reported yesterday, it's over 22cm up top.

There is some snow on the ground this morning - even down to base. The resort is reporting 15cm on the top areas.
