Myoko Now: Tuesday 23rd December 2014
There was the possibility of some heavy snow, but we basically had a day of light fall through the day, not much accumulation, and then increasing snowfall in the evening.
Myoko Now: Friday 19th December 2014
Cold and clear this morning; Akakan and Ikenotaira picked the perfect day to start the season! Just a little extra snow overnight—maybe 25-30cm (funny when a foot of snow seems like "just a little").
Myoko Now: Thursday 18th December 2014
This is being written during a mid snow clearing coffee break; there is a lot of snow out there to clear, and I'm the one to do it.
Myoko Now: Wednesday 17th December 2014
The day started slow, but now we can't see with the heavy snow falling—pelting, crashing, screaming—down.
Myoko Now: Monday 15th December 2014
Another late report here, thanks primarily to the last of the bonenkai—end of the year parties; they never stop—and the fact that once I got some coffee in it was time to go blow more snow.
Myoko Now: Sunday 14th December 2014
This would have been a nice, early report if it weren't for the (dramatic pause, please) nearly one meter of snow that fell overnight.
Myoko Now: Saturday 13th December 2014
Snow is falling this morning, although not (yet) the heavy fall that was forecast as possible for the day.
Myoko Now: Friday 12th December 2014
I have been hesitant to report since yesterday, for the rain yesterday, because were looking for a big snowfall that hasn't happened yet today.
Myoko Now: Sunday 7th December 2014
The snow might have tapered off during the day yesterday, but it started up again sometime during the night.
Myoko Now: Saturday 6th December 2014
Yesterday's forecast came true: we work up to about 60cm of fairly nice fresh snow - not as wet and heavy as is often the case early in the season.
Myoko Now: Friday 5th December 2014
Here it comes.... things are white outside at the moment.
Myoko Now: Sunday 23rd November 2014
A post-earthquake note (nothing snow-related to report just yet, unfortunately). We were really close to the epicenter, it seems. Felt that way.
Myoko Now: Tuesday 18th November 2014
The snow is slowly creeping down the hill; the fall blooms (yellow bulldozers and red snowthrowers) are now in full glory around the homes.
